Celebrating One Man's Dream - July 17th, 2005

Plaza Inn

One of Walt Disney's favorite restaurants, it is located at the Northern end of Main Street near the entrance to Tomorrowland.

The restaurant, originally called The Red Wagon Inn and sponsored by Swift Foods, was renovated and re-opened in 1965, boasting a robust menu of breakfast, lunch and dinner. The ornate interior woodwork, chandeliers, stained glass and tile floors were something of a rarity in a restaurant that offered reasonably priced foods.

Today, it's a "buffeteria" style restaurant, with seating both indoors and out. There are character breakfasts in the mornings, so be sure to check your Disneyland schedule, as these events are often quite crowded. Not to be confused with Plaza Pavilion directly across the way, which will later become the Plaza Pavilion Country Fair later next year.
