The Walt Disney Railroad provides transportation and a wonderful way to experience the Magic Kingdom. Trains can be boarded in Frontierland, Mickey's Toontown Fair and on Main Street USA. The round-trip journey (with stops) usually lasts about 20 minutes. The Walt Disney World Railroad consists of 4 engines; Locomotive #1 is the Walter Elias Disney (the tallest of the four locomotives), Locomotive #2 was named the Lilly Belle; named after Mrs. Disney (and a tribute to the original Lily Belle that Walt had built), Locomotive #3 was named the Roger E. Broggie, a tribute to Imagineer Roger Broggie who helped bring the original Disneyland trains to reality. Locomotive #4 is suitably named the Roy O. Disney, in honor of Walt's brother, Roy, who continued the construction of Walt Disney World after Walt passed away in December of 1966. (Roy O. Handheld Captioning is available at this attraction. This portable captioning system uses a wireless handheld receiver to display text in locations where fixed captioning systems are impractical, such as moving attractions. Receivers are available through Guest Relations and require a $100 refundable deposit (must return item on the same day for refund).
Rental strollers may not be taken on the Walt Disney World® Railroad.
