Avast Matey! It be too late to alter course Matey .... Welcome to Pirates of the Caribbean, the worldwide phenomenon. The attraction, which originally opened in Disneyland in 1967, then opened in Walt Disney World in 1973. The attraction was not originally intended for the Magic Kingdom, but because of the popularity of the Disneyland attraction, it was added in Adventureland. The attraction is a somewhat shorter version than it's Disneyland counterpart, but remains a popular attraction, especially with the latest additions of Captain Jack Sparrow, Captain Barbossa and the ghostly image of Davy Jones.
