Welcome to
Main Street U.S.A., a composite of a typical American town during
the turn of the century. Fashioned loosely after Walt Disney's hometown of
Marceline, Missouri, Main Street USA features themed dining, entertainment and
shopping experiences.
Featured attractions here include
The Walt Disney World Railroad
and the
Main
Street Vehicles.
Several dining locations, including
The Plaza
Restaurant,
Crystal Palace
and
Casey's Corner and the
Main Street Bakery offer a variety of
sandwiches, hotdogs and cheeseburgers and entertainment while you dine.
Traveling up Main Street USA, you arrive at the Hub, or
Central Plaza of the Magic Kingdom, which leads to the other various lands. Here, the famous "Partners"
statue reaffirms that it really was all started by a Mouse (named Mickey). The
statue was designed by Disney Imagineer John Hench and sculpted by Imagineer
Blaine Gibson, who started his career as an animator at the Disney Studios, and
then moved on to become a sculptor for many of the audio animatronics figures
both at Disneyland and Walt Disney World.
Don't miss
Roy Disney's likeness
seated on a bench on Town Square, which is a tribute to the dedication of Roy
Disney, who continued the work of his brother, after Walt Disney passed away in
1966.
Numerous shops
from featuring everything from classic Disneyana, jewelry and other souvenirs
are located throughout.
During the day, be sure to catch the
Disney Dreams
Come True Parade and the nighttime
Spectromagic
Parade. Also, playing selected weekend evenings and holidays, be sure not to
miss the fireworks spectacular
Wishes!
