Default World of Color Segments (Open Brainstorming)

Disney has lived up to the promise of World of Color being an interchangeable show. I never got to see the villains segment, but I know that it was replaced by an extended Pirates segment. I also never got to see the TRON encore either. But I have been fortunate enough to see the Prep and Landing opening! So I thought, "Imagine the great segments that could be in the near future..."

What ideas do you guys have? I'll get the fun started and post some of my ideas...

    --------------------------------------

    - The Future Has Arrived - A segment focusing on Meet the Robinsons. Some of the main tracks would be "The Future Has Arrived" and "Kids of the Future." I'm not sure as to what it might entail just yet, and where it could go.

    - Rainbow Connection - A segment built around the Muppets. It starts out with Kermit strumming away at his famous banjo, the same exact clip from the Muppet Movie. During the instrumental opening, we see Dom DeLuise's agent character talking to Kermit, encouraging him to pursue the dream that started it all. Throughout the song, there are clips of Kermit meeting each Muppet, whether its Fozzie or Walter. About midway through the song, there would be brief interludes for two speeches Kermit has ever made: the speech to Doc about "Dreams", and the "I believe in you" speech at the end of the newest Muppet movie. Slowly, Kermit is joined by his friends in singing "Rainbow Connection" as with the latest Muppet movie, and then it ends with the verses of the Magic Store version ("Keep believing, keep pretending..."). It would either go at the beginning, moving "Part of Your World" back, or after "Little April Showers," though I'm partial to having it behind "April Showers."

    - Toy Story - Would replace the current Toy Story segment that morphs into the Buzz Lightyear segment, despite how much I love it... Instead of having it built around Buzz's introduction to Andy's Room, it would be based around the opening to Toy Story 3. It would probably require a LOT of new footage, since I don't think the scene is long enough to replace both scenes, unless we know how to work it.

    - Sequence Based Around Black and White Cartoons - Not sure what it would be called, but I always thought it would be cool to have a black and white segment in the midst of all the colorful excitement. Since there's not a whole lot that can be done, it would probably be a temporary opening that segues into the current opening in a similar fashion that the Prep and Landing opening did.

How about a different show every time? Like how Star Tours keeps the same stuff but with other combinations?
I have always wanted "Two Worlds" from Tarzan in it because in the finale they are like: "World of Color! A whole new world! Color! Part of your world! Color!" So "Two Worlds I think could fit right it. I think it would work well as a Pirate's replacement.

I was really thinking about that!! Do you have any particular ideas for a Two Worlds segment?

It's alright, that's what the thread is for. To keep down your ideas and such. The only formed idea I have is the Muppets one. The others, I still need to work out...

How about for Two Worlds, we use one version of the song (if I remember, there are four versions) before it transitions into the finale version? If you recall the finale version, there's this really upbeat intro that would work well for a fountain interlude. Then it's got the famous Tarzan holler at the end.

It doesn't have to be limited to just Tarzan scenes, but I think it could work well if we utilize the "collision of two worlds" aspect. The "So Close" segment is a focus on romance, not just one particular movie. So it could touch on the aspect of two different cultures; two worlds.

Just a few ideas for you to play with there.

How about it also having scenes from the Jungle Book? Fits in pretty well, both jungles. I like that idea though of having it be two completely different worlds.

Jungle Book could work pretty well too! There's actually a lot of Disney movies about two worlds colliding, so you might want to look into those.

I would make a compromise of the two ideas. Have this montage be something of padding with clips of miscellaneous movies before switching the focus to Tarzan, doing his famous holler. And then, we could have a transition to a full-on Tarzan segment, centered around the "Trashin' the Camp" scene. Just try to imagine all the lights and water set to that song...

I just want to say, do NOT be afraid to break the World of Color mold. The WoC mold is generally built around a movie clip with new orchestration and fountains and whatnot. Feel free to do anything. More contemporary musical arrangements (like originally planned), showing characters in a new medium of animation (i.e. traditionally animated characters in CGI, etc.), whatever. And note that some past segments have actually broken the fourth wall (i.e. Heimlich, Prep and Landing).

the finale is like color colliding to each other and creating a wonderful and beautiful world of color.
