Disney fleece hoodies recalled for excessive lead

Disney-themed fleece hoodies sold at Target recalled for lead Thousands of Disney-themed fleece hoodies and t-shirt sets sold last year at Target are being recalled because they contain excessive levels of lead CBS Detroit New York-based Children’s Apparel Network said they are recalling approximately 6,200 products sold in red/white, gray/red, and black/blue color combinations in assorted sizes from 12M to 5T. The hoodies have Disney character designs in three different styles — Snow White, Mickey Mouse and Lightning McQueen. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said the surface coating on the zipper of the fleece hoodie and t-shirt sets contain excessive levels of lead, violating the federal lead paint standard. The items were sold exclusively at Target stores in Michigan and nationwide and at Target.com from Oct. 2011 through Dec. 2011 for approximately $18. Consumers should take the product away from the child immediately and return the set to any Target store for a full refund. I think the real issue is that it's a transcript of a local radio broadcast from Detroit. Of course they would say something to the effect of "sold right here in Michigan" because that's where their listeners are.
