Couple wins Disneyland Dream Home

Dream home winners get a glimpse of the future A couple receives the keys to their new home during a visit to Disneyland Orange County Register Two weeks before his last unemployment check arrived, Mark Roberson, a former truck driver from Clarkston, Ga., received a phone call in August that left him so stunned, he had to hand back the receiver to his wife, Gloria Roberson, for her to talk to the caller. A representative from homebuilder Taylor Morrison told Roberson, 44, that he had won a new house in the company's dream home giveaway that began early this year. Roberson had no memory of entering the contest. As it turned out, he indeed had entered a contest, but one which he mistakenly thought had a prize of a trip to Disneyland Resort in Anaheim. The dream house contest did include a trip to the theme parks as part of the grand prize - a $200,000 house in any of the cities and towns where Taylor Morrison new homes were being built. Friday morning, the Robersons, along with their 21-year old nephew, Zabiane, walked through the Innoventions attraction at Disneyland's Tomorrowland to receive a symbolic key to their new home in Houston, Tex. The winners took a tour through the Innoventions Dream Home, which features some forward-thinking ideas as well as some technological innovations that are now available. The Robersons' 2,361-square-foot residence, which will be completed in November, will feature The Interactive Home, a digital technology package ranging from $10,000 to $20,000 offered by the builder in various locations, including the new Campanilla neighborhood debuting in two weeks in San Juan Capistrano. by Lisa Liddane complete article

It is a great story and I couldn't be happier for these people. But I do have to ask one question and please don't run me out of town.

How much is the income tax when one wins a $200,000 home? Personally, I don't think I could afford to win a free home.
