| Disney introducing zebras at Animal Kingdom |
Orlando Business Journal
The Kilimanjaro Safaris at Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park will soon welcome 15 Plains zebras to the African-inspired savanna. The zebras, which first arrived at Walt Disney World in February, have been adjusting to their new surroundings and will soon be the new finale of the safari attraction, the Orlando Sentinel reports.
The herd, which was acquired from the nonprofit organization Associations of Zoos & Aquariums, consists of all females between the ages of 5 and 10 years old. Disney told the Sentinel the zebras will be moved to their new home toward the end of the Kilimanjaro Safaris in phases. The theme park has not set an official date as to when they will be settled into their new environment, but expects the move to be completed by the end of October.
