As much as sequels seem to be a cop-out for studios, I will agree that Pixar seems to balance the old with the new, so to speak. It should be an interesting few years!
'Finding Nemo' sequel
Andrew Stanton to direct Pixar's 'Finding Nemo' sequel
Hollywood Reporter
Andrew Stanton is heading back to animation, signing on to direct a sequel to Pixar’s Finding Nemo, the 2003 modern classic he co-directed. Victoria Strouse, who wrote the 2008 Black list script The Apostles of Infinite Love, is writing the script and Lindsey Collins is producing. A 2016 release date is being eyed.
The move is also a safe one by Pixar, the company that once was praised for cranking out original film after original film, but now seems to trying to balance commercial prospects with unique creations.
Pixar is hard at work on three new original projects which will hit screens in the coming years: The Good Dinosaur (directed by Bob Peterson and slated for May 30, 2014; untitled inside the mind project (from Up's Pete Doctor, with a June 19, 2015 release); and an untitled movie about Dia de los Muertos (directed by Nemo co-director Lee Unkrich).

Fingers still crossed for the toilet...
Plot twist: Imagine it's about Nemo going on a spiritual journey to find himself.
Life's a happy song!
Nemo has his own son and loses him then proceeds to get lost while searching for him. Then an elderly Marlin has to go out and save him with Dory who strangely never aged.
For sure Nemo's either going to be an adult or have a new voice actor. Maybe it'll be about Nemo as a teenager?
Pls.
This might be interesting actually to see how they tackle the story & all.
I think the best way to approach this sequel would be to still retain the characters (so that's Marlin, Dory & Nemo & maybe a few others from the original film) but place them in a storyline that isn't a rescue mission. Still wouldn't know what kind of story they could go for though.
Consider me excited for this one!

How can they make a Finding Nemo sequel, when they already found Nemo? To lose him again...well, is just bad parenting!
Maybe they need to find Dory this time, cause she can't remember where she lives, and she just keeps swimming.
^LOL!!
Just keep swimming, just keep swimming!
Here you leave today and enter the world of Yesterday, Tomorrow, and Fantasy.

Ellen DeGeneres in talks to return
Ellen DeGeneres in talks to return for 'Finding Nemo' sequel
DeGeneres voiced Dory in the 2003 animated classic, which is still Pixar's highest-grossing original film
Hollywood Reporter
Ellen DeGeneres is in negotiations to reprise her role in Disney/Pixar's planned Finding Nemo sequel. Assuming the deal comes together, DeGeneres would voice Dory, a blue tang fish who was suffering from short-term memory loss in the 2003 original film.
Over the years, DeGeneres has not been quiet about her desire to see a Nemo sequel come to fruition, making multiple mentions on her popular syndicated talk show. The news comes a few weeks before DeGeneres’ long-running talk show returns for its 10th season.
Writer/director Andrew Stanton (John Carter), who wrote the 2003 film with DeGeneres in mind and co-directed it, is set to return for the follow-up. Victoria Strouse is writing the script and Lindsey Collins is producing. A 2016 release date is projected.
