D23 announces Destination D: 75 Years of Disney Animated Features Orlando Attractions Magazine Disney’s D23 fan club will hold “Destination D: 75 Years of Disney Animated Features” at the Disneyland Hotel on Aug. 11 and 12, 2012. The two-day event features concerts, screenings and special guests celebrating decades of Disney films and characters. The event will showcase films dating back to Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs to the upcoming Wreck-It Ralph. Renowned historians, authors and animators of today will host this trip through the artistry and imagination of Disney animated features, each day ending with an nighttime concert featuring two Disney Legends. Tickets will be available starting at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 18 and are $225 each, available exclusively to D23 Members and their guests. Dick Van Dyke, Alan Menken to perform

Dick Van Dyke coming to Disney event Orange County Register Tickets go on sale Wednesday (today) for a special event by the Disney fan club that will feature actor and singer Dick Van Dyke. D23, the official Disney fan club, recently announced the details for the upcoming Destination D event, set for Aug. 11 and 12 at the Disneyland Hotel. The event is open only to D23 members. Tickets go on sale Wednesday (today) for $225 each. Go to the D23 website for more information and to buy tickets. Destination D’s theme will be 75 Years of Disney Animated Features, centering on the 75th anniversary of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs with panels and performances. A previous Destination D event at Disneyland in 2010 focused on the theme park’s history. Features of the August event are: A Saturday night concert by Van Dyke, a star in Mary Poppins, who will perform Disney tunes and others. A Sunday night concert by Alan Menken, an Oscar-winning composer and song writer who penned more recent Disney songs, including Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin. I apparently missed the little detail that Marge Champion (dancer and reference model for Snow White) will be there tomorrow. I've never heard of her making appearances like this. She's 93 years old. I would have been much more interested had I known.
