I have the framed 50th one. It's a smaller one. Wanted the big one but couldn't afford it. His work is beautiful. Would love to get the Peter pan one. Rest in peace Mr. Kinkade
Sad that he passed away so young. Of course there was a run on his work at the gallerys today after the news hit the internet. He would come into the Christian Bookstore I worked at in San Jose to sell/sign his paintings/lithos etc... so I have a signed Lithograph somewhere in a box out in the garage.
His paintings were SO ubiquitous. Since he did several famous paintings of Disney Parks, I was wondering if anyone else here has a Thomase Kinkade hanging around their house? Coffee mug? Pencil Cup? Mousepad?
Do you have the famed "50th" Disneyland one?

^Hold it! There's a Peter Pan one?! Can you still get copies of his work? I'd love to have a nice Peter Pan panting. I only knew of SB and Cindy castles, Snow White's cottage, and Pinnochio's wish. Can anyone point me towards the Peter Pan painting?

^It's called Tinker Bell & Peter Pan Fly to Neverland. You can find it pretty much anywhere Kincade's work is sold.

^Thank you so much! I've never seen this one before, I don't know why. It looks so beautiful. I love the lost boys in the clouds! I'll look into finding a copy of this. I have a lovely Alice drawing from a good friend of mine, but she wasn't a big fan of Peter Pan, so I've been looking everywhere for a nice Peter Pan painting/drawing. This one seems perfect. Thank you ever so much for the direction!

I don't have any of Kincade's work in my home, but I have always been attracted to his work. I guess it isn't surprising that Kincade took a lot of flak and criticism for being "commercial" or sentimental or popular or any of the other things that seem to drive art critics nuts. That's the way it goes in the art world. But I think Kincade was brilliant and I love his pieces. His paintings are beautiful, soothing, inspiring and just plain fun to look at. His Disney works are filled with so much detail as to keep anyone busy for hours to see it all.
He put lots of hidden things in his work. Several of his Disney pieces have hidden Mickey's and numerous hidden "N's" in honor of his wife Nanette. But my favorite hidden detail in a Kincade painting is in the one he did of Pinocchio.
I was at Disney's Hollywood Studios a couple of weeks ago and snapped a quick picture of the painting displayed in one of the stores there.
A Cast Member came up to me and asked if I had ever seen a certain hidden detail. I had to admit that I hadn't, but I spent a little time looking. If we zoom in on the painting we see that Stromboli is putting on a show in the village.
In the audience someone has a classic Mickey Mouse balloon.
If we follow the string of the balloon down into the crowd, we see none other than Walt Disney standing there looking right at us. Nice. Any artist who puts hidden Walts in a painting is ok with me.
Kincade captured the entire story of Pinocchio in one scene. I find the composition to be endlessly interesting. I am going to miss this man very much.

Disneystore has the peter pan one. So does shopnbc. My boys are huge Peter pan fans. I would like to get it for them. He was so young. So sad for him and for his family.

I have a 24x36 of Disneyland's 50th. It's #2 of 300 of the Artist Proof series and it's triple signed.
I have the 50th one as well. Its not framed and a smaller one. But I was happy to have it! I always like to stop and admire his work. One of his galleries is in the Galleria at Tyler and I always enjoy a stroll in there. I think his being called the "Painter of Light" made his work a bit more mystical. He really did have a way of capturing moments or scenes. I've said it already and say it again "Thank you Thomas Kinkade for brightening our world."
