Exclamation New Disney Resort, Open Brainstorming

Up until now most open brainstorming threads within the past few years have fallen victim to being unorganized, overcrowded with clashing ideas, and not enough participation. Within a few days of their creation new threads come up and take away the relatively new thread's (which is now considered old) thunder. DR and MEW's Imagineering Thread, Disneyland Australia, and Disneyland Germany all disappeared into VF history, leaving behind organization and magic. So I think it's time to bring back this classic style of open brainstorming and create a new Disney Resort in lieu of the greats: Disneyland Australia, Disneyland Germany, and any other successful open brainstorming thread. I've tried reviving DLA but every attempt dies off within the first few weeks. So this thread is all new and all classic.

Rather than having to worry about a location for this park, we're going to go right ahead and paint a new Disney Resort on a blank canvas, crafting the Disney realm of our dreams. We can do so much here and go absolutely crazy (in a good way). I'm all for having two theme parks, one massive hotel, and one luxurious shopping district. The first park would naturally be Disneyland. The PERFECT Disneyland. We'll include as many new and original attractions and lands as possible along with several classics which stay relatively faithful to their respective original (Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise, Pirates, Splash, etc.). The second theme park will be the successor to DisneySea when it comes to gorgeous theming and unique attractions. I don't want to make another DisneySea (which would be forbidden since the OLC doesn't want DisneySea or any of its unique attractions recreated anywhere else) I want to make something that utilizes a theme never before explored by Disney. The possibilities are practically endless. And then the hotel and shopping district are whatever, we can do whatever we like with them, they're not that important, lol.

But yeah, WHO IS WITH ME? Let's make the ULTIMATE DISNEY RESORT. Here's a few ideas to get us started:

    - I'm a bit undecided on this idea but what if we excluded "land" from the title of each area in Disneyland, renaming them to Frontier Country, World of Tomorrow, Forbidden Jungle, Caribbean Square, and the Land of Fantasy, and anything else we can think of. I want to include some original lands in lieu of Hong Kong's unique Grizzly Trail, Mystic Point, and Toy Story Land (even though the latter is found at Walt Disney Studios as well).

    - A storyline for Frontierland/Frontier Country. Disneyland Paris has the best Frontierland when it comes to theming which is why should make our incarnation of the wild west just as intriguing. For starters I want to include Big Thunder as the land's centerpiece, located on the island. However it is no longer themed to Henry Ravenswood and his forsaken mining company. Instead it will take a cue from my old dream resort concept, focusing around the Native American legend of the Thunderbird. The Thunderbird (which is encountered on Big Thunder) once resided in the sacred wilderness, revered by local Indians as a powerful spirit. When settlers came into the country they were heavily warned of the Thunderbird who was said to have been able to eat a man in one bite. They were also told of the great fortune in gold it hid beneath the earth. The settlers let greed get the best of them and went right ahead and dug into Big Thunder Mountain Island, the supposed final resting place of the legendary beast and its treasure. Soon enough they struck gold and became filthy rich, creating the town of Thunder Springs in the process. Things were great until the noise from a dynamite blast too deep into the earth woke the Thunderbird from its thousand year sleep, causing it to spring from the mountain and curse the land, turning Thunder Springs into a fading mining town cursed to find no fortune ever again. Despite this the spirit of the west stays alive with daily street shows (involving the sheriff and a vicious outlaw), a rowdy saloon, the runaway mine trains of Big Thunder Mountain, a riverboat traversing the wilderness, an Indian Village, the Country Bear Jamboree, and so on so forth.

And that's all I can think of so far. Questions, comments, concerns? :)
    Pls.

I am TOTALLY with you 1,000,000,000,000% (although by definition, 100% is the most anyone can give.)! I'd be happy to work on the Land of Fantasy! I even have this idea for an amazing Winnie the Pooh dark ride. I'll show you right now! It's called

WINNIE THE POOH'S MOST GRAND ADVENTURE

The name comes from the name some countries give the movie "Pooh's Grand Adventure: The Search for Christopher Robin", and comes from my thread on a Disneyland resort in Maine. It will be all-3D, like Tokyo's, even down to the fuzzy characters. Here's how it will go down from beginning to end.

Entering Fantasyland from Frontier Country or maybe Critter Junction (new name for Critter Country, if we include that), and you'll find yourself in "the enchanted neighborhood" of the 100 Acre Wood. And shining like a jewel there shines a giant storybook, bearing the name "Winnie the Pooh's Most Grand Adventure". The storybook is identical to that of Tokyo's. And on a tree rests a sign reading "Presented by Duncan Hines".

Once you enter the storybook, you are inside Christopher Robin's room. The boy has let you play with some of his toys and contraptions (similar to the interactive stuff found in the queue for the MK ride.) And then, once you reach the loading dock, you find a diorama of the stuffed animals he has and a map of the 100 Acre Wood as seen in the opening of the film is displayed behind them.

The ride vehicles are versions of the seashells from the ride-through on The Little Mermaid Platinum Edition DVD, but this time, they're made to look like beehives. As guests board, Tigger provides the spiel, which goes like this:

"Whoo-hoo-hoo-hoo! Hello, everybody, it's me, Tigger! We're just about ready for you to come visit us in the 100 Acre Wood, but we want you to be safe on our journey, and being safe is what Tiggers like best. So, please remain seated with your hands, arms, feet and legs inside your beehive at all times, and for all you grown-up types, please watch your adora-bible tykes. Oh, and when our adventure comes to an end, and your beehive comes to a complete stop, please exit out to your right. Hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo! Have a wonderful time on Winnie the Pooh's Most Grand Adventure! T.T.F.N. Ta Ta For Now!"

Once guests board, they pass by a storybook page which displays a clip of Christopher Robin giving Pooh a balloon. And with that, the doors open and we pass o'er some trees (because for our first scene, we travel on an aerial track) as we hear the narrator say "One day in the 100 Acre Wood, a little bear named Winnie the Pooh set off in search for honey."

Then, we enter the 100 Acre Wood during the Blustery Day. The first scene we pass by is Pooh sailing towards the Honey Tree on a balloon as he says "Time for food!"

In the process, he accidentally knocks down Eeyore's house as Eeyore says "If you ask me, he's probably never gonna get to that tree." Then, we sail past Gopher, who pops out of his hole and wishes us a Happy Winds-day. Then, we sail around Owl's house, with Owl blabbing on and on and on about his relatives.

Then, we pass by Piglet, who spins round and round on his broom, calling for help. Nearby him is Kanga and Roo's house and Kanga and Roo themselves can be seen, Roo sailing on a kite, with Kanga at the helm. She calls "Hang on tightly, Roo!" to which Roo replys "Look, Mama, I'm a kite!" Then, we swerve across the river to Rabbit's house. Rabbit stands guard at his wheelbarrow as Pooh sails past, sending Rabbit's carrots into a wheelbarrow. "Thank you, Pooh!" Rabbit calls. And then, we land back on the ground and head past a bush with Tigger hopping up and down behind it. As he hops, Tigger says "Come on, everyone, let's bounce together!"

We then enter Tigger's Bouncy Forest. Our car joins him in bouncing. We pass by Tigger tons of times as "The Wonderful Thing About Tiggers" plays. As we exit the room, we pass by two trees. Tigger pops up upside-down as he says "Whew! I almost bounced right outta the ride!"

We then see Pooh and Tigger in front of Mr. Sanders as Tigger tells him "Watch out for Heffalumps and Woozles. They steal honey." "Steal honey?" Pooh asks in worry. Then, we enter Mr. Sanders as we see Pooh with a popgun in tow as he says "Oh, hello, everybody. I'm so glad you're here. Now, you'll go this way and I'll go that way. Did you see anything yet? No, I didn't either".

Then, things get a bit ominous as our beehive travels slowly as we hear the narrator say "Pooh kept his vigil hour after hour after hour, until at last, Pooh fell fast asleep and began to dream." We pass by Pooh fast asleep, with the balloon nearby him. All of a sudden, the balloon turns into a Heffalump's head, the room turns into a starfield, and Pooh begins to float as Tigger says "Heffalumps and Woozles...Heffalumps and Woozles steal honey...Beware...Beware!"

We follow Pooh through the starfield. Honey magically begins to drip from the walls as we pass under 2 Woozle-in-the-Boxes and into the acid sequence known as "Pooh's Dream World". This time, many of Pooh's friends are here. We spin around and around all out of control. All throughout the room, Heffabees and little balloons soar across the sky.

The first thing we pass by are 4 singing honey pots that warn us of the Heffalumps and Woozles. We pass underneath a Heffalump with a checkered shirt and see our first visual gag--Piglet watching as a transparent Heffalump sucks the honey of a pot, and explodes from gouging too much. Then, we pass by Rabbit, pounced by a multicolor Tigger. Rabbit exclaims "Ah! My worst nightmare!" The REAL Tigger just happens to be drenched with honey, poured onto him by none other than Stan and Heff from "The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh". Tigger exclaims "Yuck! You know Tiggers don't like this stuff." Then, we pass by two Heffalumps waltzing around in honey as they are serenaded by a Heffalump who uses her trunk for a harp, a snake-charming Woozle and two Heffalumps who use their trunks like accordions.

Then, we see Pooh hanging on the ledge of a Heffalump balloon towards a Heffalump tree. As he reaches it, a flash comes out of the hole, sending Pooh and the balloon hurdling backwards. The flash is actually a camera, and our picture has been taken. All of a sudden, we stop in front of a woozle ready to light the spark of a Heffalump cannon. The blast from it sends us towards a tunnel which leads into another starfield. We hear Pooh's friends calling for him to wake up. We pass under two evil watering cans that pour water down onto us. At this point, our beehive goes on a water track.

We find ourselves back in Pooh's house, where he discovers that his house is filled with water! We sail out of Pooh's house and into the now-flooded 100 Acre Wood. We sail past Piglet, who is sailing on a chair and bailing out water as he says "Oh, d-d-dear! What a mess!" Then, we sail past Owl's fallen house, and Owl is still blabbing about his relatives. Then, we sail under a tree branch that Pooh and 10 honey pots sit upon. Pooh says "Oh, no, I must rescue my supper!" Then, we pass by Eeyore, who is standing on his stick house, stating "First the wind, and now this." He is being towed by Rabbit, Gopher (who spits out water), Kanga, Roo (who says "This is fun!") and Tigger, who are all riding in an umbrella boat.

Then, things get more dramatic as the music changes and things get a bit darker. We see Pooh spinning about head-first in a honey pot canoe. Then, we see Tigger on a log, reaching out to Piglet on a chair. "Don't worry, Piglet", Tigger says, "we'll save you!" "Hurry, Tigger!" cries Piglet in worry. "There's a very big waterfall up ahead!" And quick as you can say "Did you just say waterfall?", we plummet down a huge drop and get spritzed a bit by hidden sprinklers.

Then, the skies clear up and we pass underneath a rainbow as we hear the narrator say "At last, the rain went away, and everyone gathered together to say..." "Hooray!" the gang yells, finishing the narrator's sentence. We are in the Hero Party scene of the ride, where everyone celebrates. "Hooray for Pooh, too!" pipes up Piglet. "Speaking of which," asks Tigger, "where is that silly old bear?" Well, we find out when we enter into "Hunny Moon Caverns", where we see Pooh eating his fill of honey. "Start the party without me", says Pooh as he begins to sing "Rumbly in My Tumbly".

Then, we pass by a storybook page reading "The End" as we see the gang waving goodbye to us (Pooh waving to us from a balloon) as we hear a grand orchestral version of "Winnie the Pooh" (similar to that heard at the end of "Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree", but without a chorus) as we head back into the loading dock and into the Pooh Corner gift shop.

And that's Winnie the Pooh's Most Grand Adventure!

I'm sure there will be. Ask MEW. And BTW, I'll be back with more stuff for the Land of Fantasy (but I think a better name would be Kingdom of Fantasy or Fantasy Kingdom)!

I kind of like the Kingdom of Fantasy better. I guess we can include a Toontown too. Talk to BDF, I guarantee he'll come in, maybe even reviving Goofy's Motor Mania! The dark ride not the roller coaster. And now I'd like to talk a bit about Disney Man's Pooh ride.

I really like it. :) However there are a few changes that I'd like to suggest. I don't think we should include a Critter Country. Instead we should place Splash in the Kingdom of Fantasy, right next to the border of Frontier Country. With that in mind, Pooh's Grand Adventure (I'd shorten the name to just that) would be located very much nearby before subduing the forest area into a storybook village. I'm really liking the queue and the loading area mural as well. However the exterior should be changed to something else as a giant storybook emerging from the forest right next to Splash Mountain would be kind of weird. What if you actually made it a large forest cottage of the British countryside? It would be much more appropriate in the setting and very much make more sense with guests entering the queue through Christopher Robin's house. I like the interactive elements too. We can work on those later.

Instead of making the vehicles look like beehives why not make them giant Heffalump Bees like the ones seen in Disneyland's incarnation of Pooh? They might be kind of similar to Dumbo in ride vehicle appearance but it would be pretty fun. Or why not make them hot air balloons? That'd be kind of cool. Instead of having the opening scene of the attraction being Christopher Robin giving Pooh a balloon, it might be cooler just to make the ride start off similar to the opening of Disneyland's where the vehicles pass through barn doors and foliage which move out of the way as they move forward. Then they'd enter the 3D Hundred Acre Wood and encounter the Blustery Day sequence which seems pretty good. I'm not sure why Piglet has a pop gun and what he's searching for...the Heffalump and Woozles scene is good. There doesn't need to be a second star field.

More to come when I get back from Downtown Disney!
    Pls.

Well i had an idea for Oswald's Toon Blast(sorta like the Nicktoon blast)The ride is a star tours/ cyber space mountain ride, i also wanted to give people the option of a regular tour and a private tour. Regular tour is when u go though a star tours like surrounding with multiple rows of people. Private is when u and another person get in a more cyber space mountain.

I really didn't like Land of Fantasy's name, and was just messing around with names. Thanks for using my Kingdom of Fantasy name!

When you enter Pooh's Hunny Hunt's inside part of the queue at Tokyo, you enter into a shed, yet the exterior is not themed to a shed. And besides, have you seen the storybook entrance? It looks like this:

MEW, the vehicles in Disneyland's incarnation are beehives. The Heffabees are just there for decoration. But I LOVE your idea for hot-air balloons. I think I'll keep my beehive idea for Disneyland Maine and your hot-air balloon/foliage doors idea for this resort. And I don't think I put down the fact that Piglet has a pop-gun. It's Pooh who has one, seen in the Pooh's House scene.

The starfields represent going into a dream world, and the second one represents the warp back from the subconscious back into the real world (the flood scene).

Still thinking of new Fantasyland rides. See ya later!

I guess I could try and contribute some. Do we have an idea of what the lands for this Disneyland will be called?
"Walt Disney's . Yeah. This park will basically be the DisneySea of Disneyland parks when it comes to attention to detail and beauty. I want Caribbean Square to be not only the home of Pirates but also a well-themed Spanish/British settlement of the Golden Age of Piracy, complete with battle-scarred fortresses, aging village structures, etc.
    Pls.

We should make the fireworks show so that it includes some MAJOR elements, like Paris's moat fountains, that sort of thing.

And we can have multiple parks too, right? I'm wondering because there are so many ideas I constantly want to revive, but then lack of organization suddenly throws everything off, then I lose time to work on my ideas. (Ex: Disney Studio Tour, Adventures of Flynn Rider, the Muppet Show, etc.)
    Life's a happy song!
