Default Disneyland overhaul - yet another revival (open brainstorming)

In the spirit of this thread (http://www.visionsfantastic.com/foru...ad.php?t=31804) and also to keep from being beaten to the punch, I've decided to do a thread on an overhaul of Disneyland. Granted, a lot of things are happening here and there at the park, but still, it needs help.

Feel free to suggest ideas. The first thing I would do is change the content of the Main Street Cinema. Once, it used to show movies from the silent era, then changed to Mickey Mouse cartoons, all silent except for "Steamboat Willie". Now, I have another plan with more Disney cartoons, besides just Mickey cartoons.

My plan is to do "first" cartoons. This means that all the Mickey cartoons, except "Steamboat Willie", will be scrapped and replaced by other cartoons that featured first appearances by classic Disney characters. "Steamboat Willie" is one, of course, so that's one cartoon out of six filled in. The other five shorts to be featured will be "Mickey's Revue" (first appearance by Goofy), "The Chain Gang" (first appearance by Pluto), "The Wise Little Hen" (first appearance by Donald), "Don Donald" (first appearance of Daisy) and "The Skeleton Dance" (first Silly Symphony). "Steamboat Willie" will also be revised to be fully uncut. The version used right now is apparently the 1953 reissue print, which has a scene excised because of the old Hays Code, which had gone into effect a few years after 1928, which evidently frowned upon nipples. The full intact cartoon had since been released, however, and so that version of the cartoon will now be used.

However, the set-up is the same: all the cartoons are silent except for "Steamboat Willie", and the background music in the cinema is the same: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lHnpXMVaX_8. Since "Steamboat Willie" is already featured prominently on the marquee out front, that part will be left alone and will continue to be displayed. But the side marquees will be revised to reflect the changes inside, as will the posters in the main entryway.

So, there you have it, the first of the many things I'd do to update Disneyland! Feel free now to put up your own comments or ideas or whatnot.

I think Aladdin's Oasis should definetly get an overhaul. First off, I think the stage there could play host to Disney's Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular (which will be moved from the Hyperion Theater at DCA) and a little garden area will be added that will play host to Jasmine's Flying Carpets and Prince Ali's Royal Caravan, a double-decker carousel themed to the "Prince Ali" song sequence in the film.

And what will become of the Hyperion Theater due to the move of Aladdin? Easy: Toy Story--The Musical, a show from the Disney Wonder will come to the theater.

There is not enough room for that show in Aladdin's Oasis. The small theatre only sits 200 people about (is it 20?). I would be for a double carousel if there wasn't already a carousel in Disneyland already.

Or maybe even the flying carpets ride like at the Magic Kingdom?

There is definitely NOT enough room in Aladdin's Oasis for the musical spectacular to be relocated, same goes for a spinner ride. I'd rather go right ahead and put a highly-themed restaurant in there, something that Adventureland is lacking. It can be a dockside restaurant to with its outdoor eating area expanded over a small portion of the nearby Jungle Cruise river (the portion of the river which serves as the return to civilization). Okay I have a ton-load of ideas. Quite frankly many hardcore Disney fans have been complaining about the recent fallback and lack of magic in the Disney parks, particularly Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom. The common complaint is that Disney used to be a step ahead of the theme park competition and is now being beaten by Universal, particularly by its Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey attraction which mind you is coming to California in the near future (I have no idea where they're going to put it in that small park). The Disneyland Resort needs something to compete with Universal and by the time Wizarding World opens in Hollywood, California Adventure's Expansion's results will have died down most likely. Remember when Disneyland used to feature a new attraction almost every year to keep guests coming back? It seems as if that's not the case anymore. Now parades and park-wide promotions justify new attractions. Seriously? Not everyone is into the whole parade thing. People are also into brand-new rides and shows and big-scale refurbishments for classic attractions. Although parades are pretty cool, I don't think they're worth the ticket price though.

So I have a few if not MANY ideas to help improve the Disneyland Resort including Phase 2 Expansion plans for California Adventure. What to expect? Let's take a look at just a few of my ideas:

    - The Country Bear Revue: A Tribute to the Music and Lore of California
    - San Francisco Bay
    - Refurbishments for such classics as Pirates, Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise, Indiana Jones, etc.
    - A Tomorrowland, Frontierland, Critter Country, Toontown, Adventureland, and Hollywoodland overhaul
    - Bayou Country (a.k.a. Critter Country remodeled)
    - Fantasyland Expansion
    - New additions and beautification projects resort-wide

And much, much more. Each day or any chance I get I'm going to go right ahead and post updates. Some of my ideas will be controversial. Some of them will not. Some of them will be good. And some of them will be AMAZING. Stay tuned...

    Pls.

No Marvel should only be in DHS and nowhere else.

Stark Expo is Innoventions with Iron Man theming. It's still just a big commercial.

Yeah I'd rather have nothing Marvel-related in the parks. MAYBE in California Adventure (Hollywoodland) but keep in mind that Universal continues to host the theme park rights to Marvel and its countless characters. I do have an inclusion of Marvel which would be a highly elaborate comic book store held in Downtown Disney.
    Pls.

Have you seen Marvel super hero island!! It was the best thing down there before Potter arrived, after the contract expires their just gonna replace it to DC comics, and slather some paint here and there and Boom, "DC Super Hero Island". A comic book store wouldn't do nothing but confuse the public. I say pull the contract and move marvel to Disney. Also I had a new idea for the stark expo, or we can make it S.H.E.L.D. Headquarters, it would be an actual ride

Six Flags has the rights to DC so Universal probably wouldn't use it.
