Talking Hong Kong Disneyland Further Expansion

Good news all. Hong Kong Disneyland officials have announced the addition of Star Tours (The Adventures Continue) sometime in the years following the completion of the current expansion along with further expansion plans which have yet to be announced. With this in mind I think it's time that we band together, take the size of the park into consideration and turn HKDL into an even more unique Disneyland than it is now. To me HKDL is turning into by far the most unique of the Magic Kingdoms, right up there with the creative style and somewhat originality of DLP. With Grizzly Gulch, Mystic Point, and Toy Story Land, HKDL deserves much more expansion to strengthen its uniqueness and not just a collection of straight-up clones. I'm all for the addition of Star Tours to the park (it'll be located beyond the railroad tracks in Tomorrowland and south of Autopia) but I think it's time for a few new adventures to be added. Here are some ideas off the top of my head:

    1. Toy Story Midway Mania- I know I said we should stray away from clones but I think Toy Story Land needs a dark ride to keep up to par with the other lands which all host some elaborate ride and not just a collection of creative carnival rides. Because everything in the land is supposed to be miniature and composed of toys, I was thinking the attraction can be held inside a toppled play set box labeled "Midway Mania." The interior queue is of course held inside the box and features game instructions on the walls along with decorations composed of over-sized toys and whatnot. Mr. Potato Head serves as the attraction's barker outside of the indoor queue and so on so forth.

    2. Country Bear Saloon- A new take on the Country Bear Jamboree in Grizzly Trail.

    3. Western River Expedition- The reason why Pirates of the Caribbean was not realized in HKDL is apparently due to the belief that pirates are immoral or something along the lines of that. I'm not entirely sure but wouldn't it be great if Marc Davis's legendary attraction could finally find its home in a Frontierland-type setting (it would be held in Grizzly Trail of course). Mixed with the format of Splash Mountain's climatic outdoor drop and the elaborate dark ride setting and humorous moments of Pirates of the Caribbean, Western River brings HKDL to full circle. More on this later. Grizzly Trail would continue to abide by the name of Grizzly Trail and NOT Frontierland and or Westernland.

    4. Indiana Jones and the Lost Expedition- The unrealized concept finally built at HKDL. It would be much smaller in scale though. More on this later. Due to the size of its show building and Western River's show building they'd have to share the same area beyond the railroad tracks and Indy would probably call for the removal of Legend of the Lion King...or we could work around that.

Okay I basically recommended nothing but clones lol. I want us to go into full detail on all of this too so get to work! :)
    Pls.

I think there could be something else other than WRE since it's really overused and already has elements into other attractions but that's just me.

Otherwise, I think instead there should be the following attractions:

    Adventureland:

    1. Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl: (indoor/outdoor water ride) Dead men tell no tales as you help Jack Sparrow, Will Turner, & Elizabeth stop Barbossa and his crew from retrieving the Medallion necklace
    2. Indiana Jones Adventure: Ark of the Convenient: (EMV Ride) Help Indiana Jones recover the Ark of the Convenient from the Nazi German soldiers
    FP

    Grizzly Trail:

    3. Country Bear Jamboree: (audio animatronic show) A updated version of the audio animatronic show would be located in Grizzly Trail

    New Forest sub-area for Fantasyland:

    4. Night on Bald Mountain: (indoor/outdoor roller coaster) Themed to the Night on Bald Mountain segment from Disney's Fantasia, guests encounter a audio animatronic Chernabog
    FP
    5. Beauty and the Beast: (dark ride) Here guests explore the tale of Beauty and the Beast from the Disney 1991 adaption
    6. Maleficent's Castle: (walk-through) Journey through the castle of the evil Maleficent from Walt Disney's Sleeping Beauty

    7. Journey of Snow White: (dark ride) Join Snow White on a dangerous journey from escaping the Evil Queen and meeting with new friends like Forest animals and the Seven Dwarfs
    8. Splash River Run: (river-rapids) Come and join Brer Rabbit on a wild wet journey from escaping both Brer Fox & Brer Bear but beware of the Laughin' Plac
    e FP

    Tomorrowland:

    9. Star Tours II: (motion simulator) Welcome aboard the Starspeeder 1000, which takes you on a tour of different parts of the Galaxy but remember the Empire is watching
    FP
    10. Carousel of Progress: (rotating theater attraction) Come and see the exploration of the Progress in technology where tomorrow is just a dream away

You know, dude, if I could expand Hong Kong Disneyland, here's what I'd do.

    1. The Jungle Book River Adventure--A dark ride in a canoe through the Indian jungle of the 1967 Disney classic. Includes a huge drop down Jungle Falls, possibly into the mouth of Kaa!

    2. Peter Pan's Flight--Sharing a building with the Railroad Station lies this Fantasyland classic. Not much detail, cause it's basically a clone of all the other versions.

    3. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs--A new version of the Snow White dark ride, but made to NOT scare little kids.

    4. Toontown--A whole new land based on Disneyland's classic town, with the addition of Von Drake's House of Genius, and the removal of Roger Rabbit to make way for Goofy's Motor Mania, a BDF original idea.

Well, hopefully, I'll have more ideas soon! See ya!

We still have yet to see Mystic Manor but until than, from what I've seen, this isn't gonna be a HM. Sorry.
I would add HM to Grizzly Trail. The Imagineers originally wanted it for Frontierland but that would've broken the tradition of having it in a different land in each park. Well Grizzly Trail isn't Frontierland really, it's Grizzly Trail. How about adding GRR to GT as well? Fits theme.

Just kinda curious, is this thread just for Disneyland HK or expanding the entire resort? If we expand the entire resort, there's a WAY more than enough room for another park across from DL. Maybe even a Downtown Disney District. When I was talking about HKDL with an Imagineer he said they had added all of that land for a future park. The hotel they have is themed to the golden "ear-a" of Hollywood. Maybe we should have a park set in 1930's Hollywood. I think what I'm hinting is pretty obvious, but if it isn't, I'm thinking adding my idea of Disney's Hollywoodland (check out the thread here: http://www.visionsfantastic.com/foru...ad.php?t=31957)

Well what if we add a Mineral King land (based on the original ski resort). We could put in a new mountain, maybe a haunted mansion with a new story. We'll do it up real big

Well if we're going to do the Haunted Mansion it needs to go in Grizzly Trail as well. Idea. We nix the idea of Indy from the park and leave Lion King. Any space needed by WRE and HM can be utilized by the area south of Lion King. Grizzly Trail would truly become the park's Frontierland with the addition of both Western River AND a new take on the classic Haunted Mansion which naturally avoids any connection to Mystic Manor. That's about all the room there is in Grizzly Trail for attractions. That'd mean the Country Bear Jamboree (perhaps we can re-theme it to a wild western saloon or an old opera house) would be added at the border near Mystic Point and WRE and HM (which could be TOTALLY connected to each other) would be to the southern point of the land. Forget about Indy and Toy Story Mania. Fantasyland and Tomorrowland on the other hand need major overhauls. Mystic Point, Toy Story Land, and Adventureland should be fine as is...for now...

So for the Haunted Mansion we'll need to make it very much different from Mystic Manor which borrows a lot of elements including the demon-faced wallpaper and possibly a theme song that utilizes part of "Grim Grinning Ghosts." That means we'd have to use something different.
    Pls.
