Wait, is XPass what's currently going into effect at WDW?
I know what you're thinking: What are you talking about? Well, look at this: jimhillmedia.com/editor_in_chief1/b/jim_hill/archive/2012/02/22/which-wdw-attractions-are-becoming-part-of-the-xpass-experience.aspx" Which WDW attractions are becoming part of the xPASS experience?.
Now, I know what you're thinking: What does this have to Disneyland? Well, near the end of the article, there is this little notice:
As worried as I am about how much of a negative impact will on WDW (which I rarely go to anyway), I'm even more concerned about Disneyland, which I do go to a lot. Will the Disneyland experience as we knew it for years and years go the way of the dodo with X-Pass? I fear the future here.[H]ere's one [aspect] that will be sure to make West Coast-based Disneyana fans smile: There are already plans in place to roll out xPASS at the Disneyland Resort in 2015, just in time for Disneyland Park's 60th anniversary.
"Walt Disney's. Each week, as you enter this timeless land, one of these many worlds will open to you: Frontierland, tall tales and true from the legendary past; Tomorrowland, promise of things to come; Adventureland, the wonder world of nature's own realm; Fantasyland, the happiest kingdom of them all."

Life's a happy song!
Okay this isn't really that fair...what's the point of having fastpasses then? I rarely use fastpasses because quite frankly while waiting for the return time when I rarely do get them I usually just wander around wasting time that I would've spent waiting in whatever line I had chosen. I'd like to go to WDW again someday but out of all seriousness each of WDW's theme parks, especially the Magic Kingdom are high on the list of the 10 most visited theme parks on earth, the Magic Kingdom being NUMBER ONE. That's CRAZY. Can you imagine over ten thousand people all booking times for one attraction, let alone ten million? As I said, what's the point of fastpasses with the X-Pass addition? You'd show up to the park and the return time for an attraction offering fastpasses at park opening is either "sold out" of fastpasses or boasting a ridiculously late return time. To me part of the whole Disney experience is waiting in a horrendous line and not planning a vacation and booking times to ride rides. Doesn't make much sense it'll just create bigger lines for both pass users and non-pass users.
If this comes to DLR I'm not sure what to say about it. Disneyland is the second most visited theme park on earth and judging by how crowded it gets during summer, spring, and winter, things'd be crazy with the X-Pass especially judging by the park's small size. California Adventure wouldn't be as bad but with the wait times increasing at Disneyland and the increasing amount of annual pass-holders, people would start pouring into DCA which would start making the lines over there long. Then you have two extremely crowded parks and a very full Downtown Disney. I hope this doesn't come to DLR. In recent years DLR has continued to be the heart and soul of the Disney theme park industry. It doesn't have the next generation queues, it doesn't have park-wide scavenger hunts, it has excellent upkeep and maintenance (except for Tomorrowland which is pretty bad at the moment), and doesn't have this X-Pass thing. It's practically perfect (no pun related to Mary Poppins intended). If it comes to DLR I'll give it a chance to see what it does and then I'll release a full-on detailed opinion.
