Cool Imagineering Disney's Hollywood Studios Expansion

Let me enlighten all of you with this brief history,

Originally known as MGM Studios, the idea came about when there was an idea for a Movie themed Pavilion at Epcot but when Eisner saw it he felt there should be better use for it by making the concept into one big theme park. This was also because, they were in competition with Universal who where building their movie park in Orlando, Florida. And thus the concept of Disney MGM Studios was born, it first opened in May of 1989 but only with a couple of rides the solution add more rides and such. Eventually, as the more lands open MGM Studios becomes less working studio and more of a theme park. And by 2008, after being announced in 2007 the name of the park is changed from, "Disney's MGM Studios" to "Disney's Hollywood Studios" also that year Toy Story Midway Mania opens. Year after that Idol Experience opens, and in 2011 the new Star Tours ride opens and along with a renamed Disney Junior show. Now here we are on the internet discussing what is next for the park.

The main goal of the thread is to come up with as many new ideas for improving and expanded the park. Feel free to comment and such with constructive feedback and share as many ideas possible. Otherwise, I hope you all have a great time with this the thread.

I say that HS should lose the studios look and head into the movie world. With main street being Production Lane ( the only place a soundstage is scene). with the other lands being... Gangster Alley, Muppet studios, Pixar Place, Toontown, Star wars universe, and marvel land...

Exactly what they should aim for but I'd keep Hollywood Blvd, and even Sunset Blvd. Also Universal would have to re-theme and replace their Marvel area with a DC Comics themed area, by making a deal for rights to the characters w/ Six Flags, Dc Comics, & Time Warner for exclusive use in florida.

Disney owns marvel now... And the contract for the theme park rights will run out sooner rather then later. ( Even though I want UNI to keep marvel but that's not going to happen in the long run) so UNI could retheme it to anything, Even make a new land. But since Disney owns it, might as well use it.

I heard the imagineers are now controlling that area(Disney is sorta like an underground sponsor). Also your right I think they should drop every studio except for their animation studio ( which gave us Mulan, Lion king 1 1/2, etc). But the one thing I'm afraid of is that it will end up looking like Disney's version of Universal. Universal studios doesn't really have much going on in the parks thats about the movie making industry. Matter a fact the only tour that was ever really given was a Nickelodeon Studios(smh). Disney's only tour was backlot(which needs a whole lot re-done btw). They'll end up looking like to parts of the same park owned by different company's.

Agreed and I think I have a plan for what there should be,

    Disney's Hollywood Studios Lands:

    1. Hollywood Street: Expanded version of Hollywood Blvd w/ brand new shops and dinning along with a updated Great Movie Ride and a new Red Car Trolly transportation system like DCA's with certain stops in the land. Finally the Sorcerer's Hat is removed and the main icon of the park becomes the Great Movie Ride.

    2. Star Wars Universe: Replaces Echo Lake, Star Tours stays but more SW themed rides, shops, and dinning are added also the land contains sub areas: Tatooine, Hoth, & Endor.

    3. Indiana Jones Land: This land replaces the western half of Streets of America, along with parts west of the Great Movie Ride. There will be Indiana Jones themed attractions, shops & dinning along with entertainment.

    4. Villainland: Replaces the Backlot Tour (half of it) and contains rides, shops, and dinning themed to dark disney villains.

    5. Pixar Studios: Expands into the other half of the former backlot tour and contains more Pixar themed rides, shops and dinning.

    6. Toontown: Replaces Mickey Avenue & Animation Courtyard, and is themed to the city from Who Framed Roger rabbit w/ different attractions and such along w/ the exit being Maroon Cartoon Studios to make a nice transition to Sunset Blvd.

    7. Sunset Blvd: Exterior refurbishments along with a brand new version of the Carthay Circle Theater, and a Tangled themed stage show along with new shops, and dinning also a connecting Red Car Trolly system w/ Hollywood Blvd with certain stops.

Also Disney is gonna milk this Marvel Land as much as they can since its on universal's land and they are getting most of the money for anything with the marvel logo on it(Which is like a giant Middle Finger to Universal). The only way that Disney's gonna terminate that contract is if they get one of universal's character/Film rights(King Kong, Jaws, BTF, etc

Theres only one thing I think Disney and the Jim Henson company will be mad with the new 3-D show. Muppet Vision was Jim Henson's last creation. Jim Henson's family would be outraged by it, leading into a huge legal debate.

There's no new show, and I think the original could be remastered but not changed too much.

First of all, you have to realize that "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" would be kind of difficult to have with all the legal battles that may or may not be going on between Disney and Amblin. Also, I'm not really liking the idea of the Magic of Disney Animation being part of Toontown (if it survives).

The Magic of Disney Animation would be replaced by a House of Mouse themed restaurant.

But what about the process of animation or whatever?
