Disney is casting for a Buena Vista Street band; “Five and Dime”

Disney has posted a casting call for musicians and singers for a band called Five and Dime, a direct reference to Disney California Adventure’s Buena Vista Street, where a store will share the same name.

The casting call is seeking various musicians and singers to perform as “Five & Dime, a high-energy musical group (Five) fronted by a female singer (Dime) with the vocal stylings of Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday”. The band will be tasked with playing and will “swing to popular standars of the ’30′s, while interacting with park Guests”. The casting call also says that the show will open in early June, giving us an indicator of the possible time frame for Buena Vista Street’s opening!

The Casting Call is seeking Tuba, String Bass, Guitar, Banjo, Drummer/Percussionists, Woodwind/Tenor Sax, and Trumpet players as well as singers. Auditions will be held on Saturday, March 10-11, 2012 at the Disneyland Resort.
