A glimpse at Disney’s upcoming ‘Cars’ ride ‘Radiator Springs Racers’
Geeks of Doom
Disney has released a photo-realistic image of their upcoming Cars-themed ride, Radiator Springs Racers, which will open later this year at Disney’s California Adventure Park in Anaheim, CA. Check out the full, larger image here. The new image will be used in the coming weeks in Disney’s advertisements or other promotional material to promote Cars Land.
Radiator Springs Racers, which has the same ride system as Walt Disney World’s Test Track, will be located in Cars Land, a 12-acre land within California Adventure Park. The ride takes up 6 acres of that space and is the largest attraction at the Disneyland Resort.
Check out a list of other attractions, restaurants, and shopping areas that will be part of the new land, along with a video of Radiator Springs Racers going through testing. continue

This ride is going to roooooock, but the line is going to suuuuuck. AP previews? =D
Disneyland Resort (CA) Visit and Ride Tracker since August 11, 2009:
DL Visits: 162
DCA Visits: 79
Total Rides: 1578

I just realized... Radiator Springs Racers cars have eyes... The characters will address the riders inside the car... So it's like the riders ARE the car and pretty much see from their point of view... Makes the ride all the more awesome!
Life's a happy song!
This is gonna be 47 different flavours of awesome!
“There's other ways of learnin' about the behind feet of a mule than gettin' kicked by 'em… And just cause these here tales is about critters like Brer Rabbit and Brer Fox, that don’t mean they ain’t the same like can happen to folks. So them what can’t learn from a tale about critters, just ain’t got their ears tuned for listening…”

Seriously CANNOT wait for this land to open!! I've seen the movie about 1000 times (I've got two little boys and they love everything related to Cars!) And Gregory, I'm also worried about how crowded it will be. Would love to go when it first opens, but will most likely wait until the end of summer to check it out. I'm hoping they have AP previews too or even a magic morning hours for hotel guests or something. It will be so neat to walk down the street in Radiator Springs. My boys are going to FLIP out! I don't think we will ever leave Carsland, LOL.

I share everyone's enthusiasm about Carsland. Looks great and like a lot of fun! I am really hoping for AP previews too!

A Unique Point of View
Radiator Springs Racers at Cars Land
Disney Parks Blog
For this point-of-view video, a camera was mounted on the driver’s side of a Radiator Springs Racers car during a recent test run in Cars Land at Disney California Adventure park. Vehicles are being tested seven days a week, mostly at night. By the time each vehicle is commissioned, it will travel approximately 36,000 miles per year!
The video also shows a quick sneak peek of what to expect inside the mountain range. Guests will get to see the entire track for themselves when the attraction opens on June 15 video

Also I was watching it and something caught my eye. at 14 seconds, notice the, for lack of a better term, bus bar slot going behind the wall on the left? Thoughts?

I'm unable to believe any of this is coming true. It's all, finally done. Every visit I've had to DCA always had walls up somewhere, but they'll finally be down (not permanently, since work is constantly done on the parks, but still, no more waiting for the park to be refurbished). I can still remember when the Maliboomer was up, the orange peel was still there, Disney Junior was Playhouse Disney, and I can just go on and on.
When I read about this expansion, I had a fascination for what never was in Disney Parks, and I was really worried that Carsland would fall by the wayside. But here it is. Almost ready for the world to step onto its new pavement, Racers and all.

Do we know what the height requirement is for RSR? I'd hate for my son to not be able to get on this.
Pinocchio: Good-bye, Jiminy.
Jiminy Cricket: Good-bye? I may be live bait down there, but I'm with ya!
I Know! I was thinking the same thing dreadpirate! I would assume it would be the same as Test track. I looked that up and it's 40 inches. But, you never know.....I heard the flying tires will have a 32 inch height requirement from Miceage.
