very nice
Disney Resort Oklahoma
First of all, I am aware there is a thread for a Disneyland in OK. The location of this is not final and it doesn't have to be in OK.
The past couple weeks have been really busy, but I (amazingly) found myself today with hours of free time. (I got really lucky. The busyness starts again tomorrow and continues for a week and a half 'till I get home from a trip.)
So I typed up this, which I've been thinking about and changing around for a long time.
Questions, Suggestions, criticism, ect., are welcome.
Enjoy! :)
The Disney Resort Oklahoma has two theme parks, three hotels, a shopping, dining and entertainment center, a water park, a park, and a lake.
Here is a map to get you more oriented with the layout of the resort: Map
Disneyland Park
This is the main theme park of the resort. It is a MK-style park with these 6 magical lands- Main Street, Adventureland, Frontierland, Victoria Square, Fantasyand, and Tomorrowland.
Main Street
Themed after Hollywood in the 1920s and 30s, this Main Street has Electric Trolleys and stylized Train Stations and cafes. Here you can dance to the latest Jazz tunes every night and enjoy the wonder of the latest blockbuster in fabulous movie palaces.
Services:
Guest Relations
First Aid
Camera Services
Baby Care Center
Banking
Attractions:
-Disneyland Railroad: A trip around the magic kingdom of Disneyland OK. Stops at Victoria Square and travels through Big Grizzly Mountain and the Innoventions Through Time Diorama.
-Red Trollies: A trip up and down Main Street. Departs at Town Square and the hub.
-Crystal Palace: a movie theater. Sit down and enjoy Alice, Oswald, and Mickey cartoons. We have Air Cooling!
-Liberty Gallery: Dioramas, paintings, films, and objects that tell our country's history.
-Haunted Mansion: A haunted home were spooks from all over the world have come to live. More details coming later.
Shops and Restaurants line the street. I'll get to most of those later on, but there is at least a fancy restaurant and an Ice Cream shop
At night there is jazz and swing music played in one of the buildings so people can come and dance. Munchies and fruit punch provided. This is one of the few times visitors over nine can put on a costume, so guests can get into the spirit and wear 20s clothes.

Adventureland
Adventureland is split into two subareas: The Jungle Outpost, and Agrahbah. All attractions but the Aladdin one are in Agrahbah, and all shops but the Ruins Traders is in the Jungle Outpost.
Attractions:
-Mayan River Run: An exciting raft ride through ancient ruins and the mysterious caverns beneath the ground. There are huge rapids and falls. Using water coaster technology, it can also go up fairly quickly. Hight requirement.
-Jungle Rhythm: All the info here.
-The Amazing Adventures of Aladdin (not final name): Dark ride based on the movie Aladdin. Your vehicle is similar to the flying carpets of the ride at the Magic Kingdom. It is a hanging vehicle similar to Peter Pan.
-The Lost Expedition: Even though the people on the Expedition where never heard of again, their campsite remains. Explore the camp to find clues on the expedition's whereabouts.
Shops:
-A Spice and Perfume shop selling the finest spices and perfumes from far away places, to help you and your home smell better.
-One of a Kind Bazaar: One of a kind things such as candles, wood carvings, and other objects from the land of Agrahbah.
-Lamps: A store for oil lamps. Rumor is this is were the Genie's lamp was made.
-Ruins Outpost: Souvenirs from the river rapids, Jungle Rhythm, and the Lost Expedition, as well as rarities from the Jungle.
Restaurants:
-Agrahbah Delights: A counter service that serves kabobs and other Agrahbah cuisine.
-The Rhino: A full service restaurant. One of the explorers, one with a flair for food, decided to start a restaurant inside one of the ruined temple which the jungle had taken over, giving a great atmosphere to this restaurant, which serves exotic food.
I'm going to stop with Adventureland for now, and more will come.
How soon?
I honestly have no clue. I was extremely lucky to have the time today to get as far as I did. I may not update for another week and a half, when I get home.
Maybe I'll have a chance to update before then.
In the meantime, suggestions for the Resort overview and for the First two lands of Disneyland are welcome and appreciated.![]()
"Pretty soon he would be hundreds and hundreds of miles away on the great plains and deserts, and among the mountains of the Far West, and would see buffaloes and Indians, and prairie dogs, and antelopes, and have all kinds of adventures, and may be get hanged or scalped, and have ever such a fine time, and write home and tell us all about it, and be a hero."
- Mark Twain, jealous of his brother, who was traveling west.
^Thanks! :)
Anything you would do to make it better?

Him which version of Fantasmic are you going to use?
I'm not going to do a Fantasmic! at all. Instead I'm doing a different show. It's a fireworks show above the castle, but when you watch it from the Rivers of America, there will be World of Color fountains (better hidden than the ones for DCA), and when you watch it from a place in Fantasyland or Tomorrowland yet undecided, it will be with projections. Does that answer your question?

More time today! :) We got up at 3:30 in the morning, so we decided to relax (and have a siesta) in our rental place today, which means more time for Imagineering. Yay!!
Frontierland
Explore the mining town of Eagle Mountain, named after the nearby mountain that looks like an eagle was turned to stone. The rugged Rocky Mountain ladscape is home to elk, bighorn sheep, beavers, deer, and bears. People first settled here because of the rich gold veins in the Eagle Mountain. Many people, however, now claim that the mountain has a mind of it's own.
Attractions:
-Western River Expedition: Mostly faithful to the original designs for the attraction planned by Marc Davis and crew. The difference is that it now takes place in a different landscape, which changes the backdrops and some of the people and props in the ride. Eagle Moutain itself is about the size of Big Thunder at Disneyland. The entire ride is on the other side of the berm. (Thus, the drop will be in darkness like pirates, not into the ROA like originaly planned) In the actual mountain will be...
-Eagle Mountain Railroad: Pretty much the same as Big Thunder, except in a different landscape than Bryce Canyon or Monument Valley. It's now more like Grizzly Trail in DCA.
-River Rouge Keelboats and Explorer Canoes: The Keelboats travel on the same path as the Langehorn Beauty, but the canoes at one point in the river have their own little stream they float down before joining with the main river again. Maybe somewhere in the island.
-Langhorne Beauty: A majestic sidewheeler. It takes guests around the Rivers of America.
-Wilderness Island: An island in the river where you can pretend to be prirates or pioneers, exploring caves, a wrecked steamboat, and various trails by which you can see the animals of the frontier.
-Trails: There are many trails on and around Eagle Mountain and on Wilderness Island. From these trails you can see animals, pioneer camps, native American camps, and amazing caves.
By the way, there are a lot of attractions, but they all share mostly the same space, so frontierland is still about the size of Frontierland at Disneyland, except flipped to the other side of the river.
Shops:
-Leather Shop
-Metalworking Shop
-General Store: everything from Disneyland souvenirs to hand carved wooden trinkets to clothes.
Restaurants:
-Grizzly Hall: A funny musical show led by The Growlers. It is a dinner show and reservations are required. Food such as chicken, ribs, steak, and salad served.
-Golden Grill: A counter service restaurant. General fast food fare is sold here.
-Pine Tree Sweets: A shop. Serves candy, cupcakes, chocolate, pie, and other treats.
-Mary's: A shop that serves vegtables and fruits.
Victoria Square is up next, then comes Fantasyland.

Victoria Square
(name subject to change)
It is the 1890s. There are both horse-drawn and horseless carriages, oil lamps and electric lamps, the factory-made, and the made-at-home. Enjoy this time of innovation in Victoria Square, based off of Walt Disney's home town Marceline or the neighbourhood where the Banks live. Here you can visit (maybe) The Haunted Mansion or even (maybe) take a magical trip to Neverland!
Oh, boy, has this land been giving me trouble... I have two options with this land: 1: make it America. This way I can put the Haunted Mansion here, and be able to use an idea that I can't use on Main Street or 2: Make it England. This way I can have a Mary Poppins or Peter Pan ride to help transition towards Fantasyland, which I think would be very good.
I'm stuck.. I'm presenting this because I want to have your opinions.
What should I do?
Fantasyland
Enter a world of enchantment and fairy tales, and discover the Disney stories brought to life!
Attractions:
-Repunzel's castle: Mosaics, paintings, and props tell the story of Repunzel inside the castle, while below the castle, discover dungeons, dragons, and villains.
-Beauty and the Beast dark ride: On the ground, good AAs, spectacular Be Our Guest sequence. Takes place mostly underground to save space. Takes up about 3/4s of one of the sides of the Castle Courtyard. Unlike the Little Mermaid, it isn't an omnimover.
-Mary Poppins Carrousel (or Sun Kingdom Carrousel, depending on what happens with Victoria Square)
-Dumbo the Flying Elephant: So I at first didn't want to have this to make DL OK different from the parks in CA and FL, but it's a classic.
-Casy Jr. Circus Train: different than the ride at Disneyland as this ride is slow (except for the time after the "I think I can" hill) and it basically replaces the boats as a way to see Storybookland.
-Hunnypots: Tea cups except with hunny pots in a pool of honey.
-Cinderella dark ride: Takes up half of the building oppisite BatB
-Robin Hood dark ride: Takes up the other half of the Cinderella side of the building
-Fantasia Gardens: I believe this was one of the projects turned in for SYWTBAI. I loved it, so it will be going in the park.
Shops:
-Once Upon a Time gift shop: souvenirs for Fantasyland
-Villains Lair
-Crystal Arts: Marvelous crystal trinkets
Restaruants
-Toad Hall Restaurant: Goes the last 1/4 of the BatB building. Serves fish & chips, burgers, pizza, salad
-Storybook Treats: Fruit, chips, giant lollypops, and thier speciality, cookies.
I might actually finish Disneyland park today. I only need to post Tomorrowland and work out Victoria Square.
As usual, comments, suggestions, questions, ect., are welcome. :)

"The way I see it. Disneyland will never be Finished. It's something we can keep developing and adding to. I've always wanted to work on something alive, something that keeps growing. We've got that in Disneyland"- Walt Disney
^I don't much like pirates, but that's an intriguing idea! I don't have anywhere to put it, though...
Adventureland won't work for the theme I put it as, and none of the other lands in DL park would work either..
Disney Earth? Let's see.. Exploration & Innovation, Port Calmar, Asia Forest, Alpine Village, Below the Ground, Primeval World... Hmmm
I could change up Adventureland a little, but I already have a water ride there..
I think I could add a Tortuga land to Disney Earth, and that, among other pirate things, can go there.. There could also be a skull rock, a Pirate ship to play on, and spanish looking shops and restaurants..
Sorry, I'm rambling. But Tortuga/Skull Rock would make a great addition to Disney Earth!

All right, so I still need to figure out Victoria Square, and Tomorrowland needs to be organized so in the meantime, I'll start on the details of the attractions.
The one I'm the most finished with is the Haunted Mansion, because I've been working on it for months. First I'll explain the tech, then I'll do a ride through.
The first thing you need to know about the new vehicles are that they are not omnimovers. They look like the normal doombuggies, but they are not connected to each other. The vehicles can turn around like normal doombuggies. A device in each doombuggy tells the main computer where exactly it is at all times throughout the ride. The main computer then knows where all the buggies are, so it tells the buggies what to do. Whether to turn, to go right, to speed up, ect. When the Ghost Host is with the vehicles during the beginning and end of the ride, the computer tells them to act like normal doombuggies. To stay in a line, to turn at the right time, to stay at the same speed, and things like that. When the Ghost Host leaves, the vehicles then all go their different ways slowing up and down and moving all around seeing everything in that scene. The computer keeps the vehicles from crashing into each other and into the sets and figures. Does that make sense? Yes? Great!
Before we begin the attraction, there are a few things you should know.
-I originally designed the attraction to be in the south and have many civil war things with it, such as a cannon hole in the side. Now it's a retired Union soldier's house. A bit different.
-I originally designed the attraction to be on a normal Main Street, ane that might show through a bit.
-It was originally scripted for a park in Italy. I've since changed everything back to English, but if there's Italian in concept art I might post, don't be surprised.
You wander up a street that branches off from Main Street. You pass a nice house, but something doesn't feel quite right..
Oh, phooey. It's bedtime, and my parents are calling me to bed.. More later.
I'd like to see a run through of the fireworks andmaybe an audio cut.
You think you're so powerful. Well this is my dream!
RIP Wayne Allwine
^ I have it mapped out, but it isn't final yet. Here's what I have so far:
Kingdom of Stories (name subject to change)
1. Intro (once apon a time, in a kingdom of magic, there were many great stories, stories of far-off places, of the wild west, of the stars, of true love.)
2. Adventure
-Hakuna Matata
-Arabian Nights
3. America
-Yankee Doodle
-Davy Crockett
4. Outer Space
-Wall-E and Eve
-Buzz/Zurg sequence
5 Fantasy
-A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes
-You Can Fly!
6. Closing
A new song for the show is weaven throughout.
Anyway, I have figured out Victoria Square. It is in America, and I am including the Haunted Mansion in this land instead of on Main Street. To help mix into Fantasyland, there will be an attraction based off of the story of Lady and the Tramp. That way, I have no major attractions on Main St, which is the way I think it should be, and the land mixes with Fantasyland well.
To continue from my last post..
You wander off of Victoria Square, and you see a pretty house. But something isn't right. It's too quiet. No sounds coming from the house. No area loop like back in the square. The only sound is of the the wind making the chimes, hung from the celing of the porch in the front of the house, jingle. It's a red rick building, two story, with white trim. the area in front of the house has grass, with flower beds in between the grass and the house, and the grass and the fence that travels around the property. You can't see the side of the house due to a hedge. On one of the brick posts that are on either side of the open gates to the property, there is a rectangular bronze plaque that reads: Anderson 37 Sunflower Street. Anderson?, you think, quite the normal name for such a creepy place. My mother's maiden name is Anderson. I wonder why Mr A decided to leave his gates wide open? He seems to be a pretty wealthy guy. Does he want people to come in his house? Maybe he does. Maybe he wants me.. You put that silly notion out of your head and shout toward the house. "Hello? Someone there? You've left your gate open!" No one answers. You make up your mind to go knock on the door.
But before you take a single step, you here a deep groaning sound. "Hello? Is that you, Mr. Anderson?" But it doesn't sound like a person. It sounds more like a peice of groaning machinery, or the sound of a cow's "moo". Suddenly you notice there is a blueinsh light coming from the windows. You feel goosebumps on your arm and start to shake slightly. This place is haunted! And that is what the plaque now says too: The Haunted Mansion, it proclaims. When did that change? How did that change? suddenly the sound is gone. The light is gone. The plaque is back to normal. The house is just a pretty house again. Did you imagine that? It certainly scared you, but you aren't the type to chicken out on chances like this. You decide to enter the open gates and take a look around.
As you travel down the path around the hedge to the side of the house you don't notice anything haunted. It's just a tiny bit creepy. There are statues of angles, cats, ravens, bald eagles There's a bust of one of the Roman Emperors. It looks kind of like Julius Ceaser. There is one statue of a Dog that reads "Man's Best Friend Until the End". Until the end? The plants include vines that travel up the house's sides. There is a fountain. It is very pretty, with a bald eagle on the top and a leafy, flowery design along the rest of the fountian. Then the sound comes again. The lights from the window. Did Ceaser just blink at me??. The sound leaves again. After gathering your courage, you walk around a the fountain and find...
[I]Graves? The people from Mr. Anderson's family must be burried here.." You read some of the inscriptions on the tombstones.
Here lies our dear Auntie May
She blew out her last candles
On her sixty-ninth birthday
At peaceful rest is Brother Claude
Planted here beneath this sod
Below this grass is Cousin Moe
He took part in a duel
And now he's six below
That last one was right next to, nearly touching, this one:
Below this grass is Cousin Joe
He took part in a duel
And now he's six below
There are many more tombstones, with more certainly odd inscriptions, but the house itself seems to be calling you, so you step onto the patio and step carfully to the front door. This ornate white wooden door, much like the gate, was open. "Hello?" You call into the house. He didn't want to enter if someone was still living here. Who would live here? No one answers your call, so you cautiously step inside....
More later, going out to see art galleries with the Birth of Venus and David and such, which is good research for one of the Disney Earth lands and Casa Di Vici (House of Vici, a hotel).
In the words of the Ghost Host, I'll see you all a little later.

Foyer
You step into the house and the first thing you notice is the ornate crystal chandelier hanging from the ceiling. It is dusty and covered in cobwebs. There is a mirror on the right wall of the small square room. There is a door on the far end of the room and on the left side of the room. Suddenly the mirror cracks. You jump. What did that?? Suddenly a voice booms. You look around, but you don't see the person who said it.
"Welcome," the voice booms, "to a place where the air is deathly still, where the floorboards creak, where doors are heard, but the doorway is empty. Where the light from candles suddenly vanish. Where walls move. Welcome, mortals, to The Haunted Mansion. Here I will show you the delightful joy of the afterlife, the livliness of the great sleep. And maybe you'll want to join us, hmm? We do have room for one more spirit." Ghost!? You gulp. This can't really be a ghost. Ghosts don't exist. But what if it is a ghost? Whether he is or isn't, I am certainly not joining him. The voice continued. "Your cadaverous pallor betrays an aura of foreboding, almost as if you find qualms with me. Time in our lovely home will alter your opinion, I assure you. Now come along. There's much to see here." The door in the back of the room opens. You hesitate. You are curious about the room beyond, but all your common sense is telling you to run back out of this odd place. "If you insist on lagging behind, you won't have a choice in your opinion, and will be joining me." Common sense lost. You go in...

Stretching Room
(From now on, I think I'm going to stop using the 2nd person POV story as that takes longer and makes it harder to describe the rooms as I can't compare it to other mansions.)
-I must admit I am very boring... All the portraits are the same as the ones in the original. I'm not as good as Mr. Davis in creating jokes. That said, suggestions are much appreciated for a new picture if you come up with an idea.
-Ghost Host script is also the same as usual.
-Instead of gargoyles, the candleholders are eagles, and they turn their heads to look at the guests as they leave the room.
Hallway
-This hallway is shorter than the hallway at Disneyland, but it looks just as long due to forced perspective. There are no windows or changing portraits, but there are five staring busts at the end of the hallway.
-Ghost Host script: Now, a carriage approaches, to take you into the boundless realm of the supernatural. Take your loved ones by the hand please, and kindly watch your step. And no flash pictures, please. We spirits are frightfully sensitive to bright lights.
Loading
- The loading area looks a lot like the hallway, except that the ceiling is much higher and on the wall on the other side of the doombuggies, there are tall windows. Outside it is nighttime, and there is a thunderstorm. It is also very foggy out there.
-Ghost Host: Same safety spiel from the existing mansions
(I promise things will get different and more interesting. Just be patient.)

Tomorrowland
Welcome to a place where aliens and robots come to visit. Where a trip to the moon or a trip back in time is as easy as a trip around the block. Welcome to Tomorrowland.
-The colour scheme for Tomorrowland is Silver, Gold, Navy Blue, and Bright Red, with the occasional orange or violet tossed in.
Attractions
-Space Mountain: Instead of just stars, there are planets, moons, other galaxies, and asteroids. And instead of a chain lift there is a launch.
-Star Tours: Takes place during the Yuzzhan Vong war. (don't worry, though. You don't need to be a big Star Wars fan to enjoy it. :) ) There are new scenes and new planets to visit, and there are familiar characters to see. (among them Leia, Luke, Han, Chewbacca, Lando Calrissian, R2, 3PO, Wedge, Wicket. And for EU readers: Mara Jade Skywalker, the Solo children, Tenel Ka, Lowbacca, Tehiri, Borsk Fay'lya, Nom Anor, Vergere) You won't see everybody on one ride though. Only one or two each ride.
-Wall-e dark ride (all info here, 149th post)
-Alien Encounter: A crazy, zainy, and otherwise odd ride that goes through a variety of alien planets. There are bizarre alien animals, plants and landscapes, and strange things happen. Aliens dissapear, or they use a trumpet that blows bubbles filled with a strange insectoid. You are stuck on a whirl pool in one planet, spinning and fall through the bottom to find yourself warped to a different planet. Mostly combine wierd with sci-fi, and you get this ride. What is the point of the ride you ask? It's to show that anything is possible. You might just find something like you just witnessed on a real planet out there. At the end of the ride, guests exit out into an exhibit that explains that.
-Time Rovers: Welcome to the Time Travel Association (I hope you don't mind, SWG. It was the perfect name). It is the place to go to plan your trip through time. Helpful traveller's tips, reviews of ancient and renaissance restaurants and hotels, and rentable copies of the well-renowned guide: The Guide to not Spilling your Guts to People In the Past, or, The Guide to not Fraying the Threads of Time and Therefore Destroying the Entire Universe. (Yes, a long title, we understand.) Here is also where you can start your time travel trip by taking one of our great Time Rovers. Enjoy the marvelous past on your next vacation! /ad. This ride is an EPCOT-like dark ride through time, hosted by none other than Timekeeper, of Le Visionarium fame. Unfortunately, things go a bit haywire about halfway through the ride. The Time Rover breaks, and the ride speeds up, greatly. Sending you through time at amazing speeds. When you finally stop, there's a big T-Rex. He sees you, and starts walking toward you. (He's an AA, by the way) He's about to eat you when Timekeeper is able to get the Time Rover going again, and you head safely back to Tomorrowland.
Restaurants
-Ray's: A buffet serving many different food items, so everyone can have what they want. AA alien musicians, such as Sonny Eclipse, entertain the guests as they dine. Character breakfast featuring Buzz and Zurg, Wall-e and Friends (AAs), and Star Wars characters.
-Falling Star Cafe: Counter Service with Pizza, Hamburgers, Salads, and Noodles.
-Launching Pad: Stand featuring snacks from across the galaxy. (fruit, chips, drinks, frozen lemonade, churros, ect.)
Shops
-Star Trader: Souvenirs for Space Mountain.
-Gifts from Space: Gifts from all over outer space. Main Tomorrowland shop.
As always, comments, questions, criticisms, ect. are welcomed. :)

Endless Hallway
-GH Script: Same as original
- This version of the Endless hallway has doors on the sides of the walls. Instead of one floating candelabra, there are a dozen different things moving in and out of the doors. These things include soldier's hats, candelabras, flags, flowers, drums, and other stuff
- Every few seconds a ghostly voice going "ooh" and a puff of air float down the hallway towards the guests.
Corridor of Art
- GH Script: Here in this gallery, you see many odd pieces. In this house, we prefer the rather strange and bizzare works.
- A hallway where the changing portraits are located. They don't flash, but rather morph slowly. They start kinda-sorta normal, then get really really strange
- The decoration in the room is creepy.
- Many of the sculptures are from the Museum of the Wierd.
- There are also staring portraits.
The Stuck in the Coffin guy
-The coffin is made of rock.
- It has a bust on it.
- It looks like this, except much less grand. It is smaller and with less decoration.
- Just like in the existing mansions, the arms are pushing up on the lid, but it is the bust that is saying "Let me out! Let me out!"
- There is a tombstone nearby, the one that the people were going to bury this person in. It says:
Lt. Huet Christenson
Served his country well
Born: 1834
Served:1859-1872
Died: 1894

"Pretty soon he would be hundreds and hundreds of miles away on the great plains and deserts, and among the mountains of the Far West, and would see buffaloes and Indians, and prairie dogs, and antelopes, and have all kinds of adventures, and may be get hanged or scalped, and have ever such a fine time, and write home and tell us all about it, and be a hero."
