    Default New 'Disneyland Records' label

Disney's record label was called Disneyland Records from it's launch in 1956 until 1989, when it's name changed to Walt Disney Records. Now Walt Disney Records has partnered with Intrada to produce CDs with the original Disneyland Records logo. Their first release is Michael Giacchino's UP. According to Intrada this release is the

"start of new series of long-awaited soundtrack treasures from Disney vaults, presented from original session elements lovingly restored, all spotlighting premiere CD releases from animation & live action classics appearing throughout esteemed studio's history!"

While it makes me giddy to see the Disneyland Records label again (as an avid fan of the line, trust me I truly am!), my true hope is that they really dig into the vault and release some true treasures in need of restoring. UP, being rather new, is an interesting one to begin with, but please really dig deep, Intrada!

Like ShrunkenNed I feel giddy about this too! It really will be great if they take us back. I was just looking at The Aristocats album I have. When I saw the logo above I recognized it instantly.

Now this bring me back to my childhood. Back when my parents were still married. Back when I didn't have any responsibilities. My parents didn't let us watch television on Saturdays, so my sisters and I would sit around our record player and listen to and follow along with the book to classics like Peter Pan, Pinocchio, Lady and the Tramp, Mary Poppins, The Three Little Pigs, Cinderella, The Black Hole, Winnie the Pooh, Bambi and we even had The Hobbit. Most of these I had never seen the movie but knew the stories from those records. When I finally did see the movies it was truely magical.
