I know our cold is nothing compared to back east, the central plains or the pacific northwest, or anywhere else in the US. But its fun to be able to get bundle up and have that wintry feeling!

Yeah, whenever i visit family on the East Coast, it is NOTHING compared to the cold we have here, and i thought i was cold. haha! But yeah, i love the feeling of bundling up and keeping warm, only adds on to the holiday spirit!

Hahaha well it's the coldest we've ever experienced out here, honestly. You're obviously used to colder conditions.

To the OP, hot chocolate all the way. It is so good at the parks. I know what you mean about being uncomfortable when it's cold. I made the mistake of wearing just a hoodie my first winter visit and boy did I pay the price.

To whoever suggested it, a scarf is a great idea!

The coldest I've ever been in my hometown, was about 20 degrees I think. That was about 12 years ago. It snowed that year, and Californians had NO idea what to do. The snow barely covered the street, and people wouldn't drive, they were calling into my dad's work saying they have to take the day off, they can't make it to work, what do they do, etc.

They say here in Bako that is snows every 10 years. If so, we are almost 3 years behind..

But an average winter temperature here is around 40 degrees. Way too cold for me! haha
My dad wants to move to Montana, but my mom won't because of the winters.

I beg to differ... It never gets cold in SOUTHERN California. Here in NorCal freezing temps and frost conditions are normal.

Remember that NOT getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck

Um, I suppose it never snows in California, north or south? Geez, I wish people would get their facts straight about CA.

I have a sister who lives in Yucaipa, in the Inland Empire of So. Cal, not even up the mountain, just a higher elevation, and she has had damage to the roof of her house last year due to snow. About three Thanksgivings ago all the family and extended family was over there and there was very cold rain most of the day, then it began hailing. There have been days when she and her husband have had to get the snow and ice off their cars in the morning in order just to drive 30 min. to work in San Bernadino.

I wish someone who lives in another state who owns a car would tell me how they are colder than I am waiting 20 minutes at a bus stop in the cold January rain in Southern Calfornia, then getting off a bus and walking four blocks in the rain and wind. It's not what state you are in. It's whether you are in a vehicle or a building that counts. Like, tell the homeless people in LA that an overnight low of 42 is not cold when they are sleeping on a sidewalk.

Maybe the real wimps are those from elsewhere who haven't been here to experience all the CA has to offer. High heat, very strong dry winds, annual flash flooding, snow, blinding fog that causes major accidents, annual forest fires near homes, and drought. This is a state where it is not uncommon for people to lose their homes from fire or have major damage to their homes from mudslides, yet they go on to rebuild and/or clean up and live in the same area because of the beauty and because it has been their home for many years.

    Anyyyway.............

I guess if I was a guy I might wear thermals on a really cold night. But, being a woman, I do okay with support pantyhose. Leggs makes comfortable ones, although they do need to be stretched out by wearing them a couple of times in order to get them to be really comfortable. i used to wear thermals, though, when I worked nights outside selling Christmas trees for the store I worked for. Also, our check out area had door that stayed open a long time and would allow strong winds to blow in. I would wear thermals in January or on cold windy days. I had a good pair I bought at Sports Chalet. Thermals are too heavy for me, though, and tend to droop the more you wear them. They wear better if you don't wear them often.

Thermal socks are good. Especially if you find some made with material that wicks moisture away from your skin so you don't have to worry as much about wet feet in the rain.

I like to take packets of instant apple cider or Land of Lakes speciality hot choc along with me when I go out and ask for a cup of hot water. Saves money. The hot chocolate at Disneyland is very good, though. I think they use Nestle's. Same as at Knott's. Very smooth and rich, full flavored.

I suppose my number one favorite way to stay warm is to have a bit of alcohol. : ) So I guess park hopping to DCA or going over to Downtown Disney for a little nip would be a good way to stay warm, at least for those 21 and older.

a bit unrelated, California does not have a brutal of summer as people make it out to be, i believe that honor goes to the South, there is nothing worse than a 90% plus humidity day with 100 degrees of heat..

It all depends where you are in CA. Some places it snows, some places (like where I live) it doesn't. Some places are freezing, some places are sunny all year.
For summertime, same way. Where I live it gets up to 110 degrees. (Dry heat, no humidity.) Some places, it might get up to 90.

It all just depends, like with any other state.
