Yeah, it's in LA, somewhere along Wilshire Blvd. Right across the street from the El Rey Theatre.

That's too bad. It's certainly an enjoyable experience and well worth the six month or so wait. You've gotta hand it to TSK for just about everything, all because us fans accidentally discovered them. I mean, every other viral craze I've seen eventually fades out just weeks after their attention by the media, but StarKid didn't stop after the news covered AVPM.

First off, remember how I said you should DEFINITELY consider seeing a live StarKid event if you get the chance? DO IT! I saw the LA JMOMS show, and that was big fun. And I don't know if you've ever heard of the Harry Potter-themed store, Whimsic Alley, but they typically hold the cast autograph session at the end of the show. I got them to sign this picture I made of Darren as Harry with the word "Courage" displayed underneath. Joey Richter wrote "Who is this?", drew an arrow, and signed it. When I got to Joe Moses, his eyes lit up, and asked "Can I sign it on his face?!" I let him, and he drew a moustache before signing.

But second, have you seen AVPSY yet? It's finally up! (Warning: Keep some tissues ready.)

Definite fun! You should really go to a Starkid event when they're near. Maybe not a concert if a crowded elbow-to-elbow venue isn't your thing, but definitely try to make it out to see them whenever! I made some friends, fanboyed to my heart's content, and it was an all-around fun day.

Maybe if they did a national tour version of the Slamaganza or something, you should SERIOUSLY consider going. The only thing you'll be sad about is that it has to end.

Well, it was a fun day. Gah, there was just this infectious energy. This ALWAYS ends up happening, but every time they do "Get Back to Hogwarts", the audience shouts out their respective houses, and in person, the effect is just... AGH! And then they closed the encore with Super Friends. Beachballs were flying everywhere, and it was awesome.

Oh, and the part where Robin (whose parts were sang by Brosenthal) goes "I wanna see the Eiffel Tower!" was replaced with "I wanna see the Magic Kingdom!" just for the Anaheim performance.

And then there's the entire highlight of it all, in which Meredith came out to talk to her grandparents at the upper-balcony level. She noticed us, just waiting for her, but because of HOB rules, she was unable to sign autographs and take photos, so to make up for it, she gave us all a giant group hug.
  5. As of now, I don't think I'll be attending the concert. The idea of being squished on the floor of the House of Blues among screaming fangirls makes me uncomfortable... and I'd rather not spend forty dollars-ish and end up thinking, "Holy mother of Rowling, what am I doing here?"

I'm not sure if a Starkid Day in the Park would entirely work, at least not on a grand scale. Still, I suppose it could be good fun.

Hmm. Didn't get your last message for some reason.

But I was thinking about something... How would you think a Starkid Day at Disneyland could work? The Starkids headed to Anaheim were talking about a meet-up (seems like half of them can't make it to the parks), and the idea to have its own day (like Potter Day or Dapper Day) kind of sprung... It's something I'm certainly intrigued with now... I mean, I'm not saying I'll absolutely do one, because it's just a side-thought. But never say never!

Speaking of Starkids and Anaheim, did you decide on seeing it?

And on a side note, I can say that after a double viewing of Holy Musical B@man!, Robin is officially my second favorite HMB character, only to Two-Face! (I'm sorry, I just couldn't resist...)
  7. I felt that the writing on HMB was less than good, which was the root of its problems. I felt that the plot was slow-moving, even though the show itself was short. Too much time spent on Batman whining to Alfred, for one thing. I wouldn't say that Sweet Tooth was just like the Joker, but he was quite similar in his mannerisms and voice. Still, I felt he was the most interesting part of the show.

Still trying to decide if I want to go or not. I am not going to get the higher-priced ticket, so if I did go, it would be the standing room only ticket. Not sure if standing elbow-to-elbow with crazy teenage fangirls would be worth it... even if they are my fellow Starkids. We'll see.

Yeah, a lot of Starkids are saying Sweet Tooth was JUST like the Joker, but since I'm not a big Batman person (or superhero person in general), I really wouldn't know. But if it's true, it was certainly a smart move to have Sweet Tooth.

I think the main problem with HMB was how quickly it went. If they had used up more time, like for AVPM, I think the story could have been conveyed a lot more clearly, because the plot was kick-dropped from Batman finding a friend to Sweet Tooth. It wasn't exactly fluent, so I think if I had to grade it, it would probably be a B-, with a score of a 7. Definitely nothing over a 9.8, because there's always room for improvement. They can never do manage to make me do something I don't like.

If you do decide on going, I guess I'll see you there (though we might not know)! I've RSVP'd on the event page on Facebook, and I posted a comment, inspiring the other Starkids to have a meet-up in the parks, but my pass is blocked out...

Definitely agree. The AVP shows and Starship really left me in stitches, but HMB left me a few good laughs. I must say, in addition to Sweet Tooth (who was very much a cross between Willy Wonka and Oogie Boogie) and the Super Friends, I really loved Alfred/O'Malley/Qwan-Li/Spiderman. And I liked not having the Joker as the main antagonist, and I'm quite impressed that their production values have certainly jumped up from AVPM (In which parts of the uniform aren't matching with other parts, and now they can afford Converse, for the WHOLE cast (except maybe Spiderman)).

No proble-- Wait... All on your own? You should know by now that Baby, you're not alone!

Sorry, I just couldn't resist. But you don't have any Starkid friends off of VF? I made my first this year, who also loves Disneyland, but for some reason, I think she's passing this up. If she and I went together, we'd probably plan to head to the parks afterward. Unfortunately, I can't even enter the parks that day without an extra fee. But on the other hand, I'm excited to even be in the presence of several members of Team Starkid! I'm still in disbelief.

Seguing from one Starkid topic into another, have you finished HMB yet? By far the best ending to any Starkid show. Er, actually, I'm quite torn between AVPS and HMB.
