I heard it from some of my friends here at the park. We are not exactly sure if it is 100 percent true yet but this is what they are planing to do. This is due to the new attraction that is to open at DHS, American Idol Live. They want the attention to be given to that show at night time. If fantasmic happened every night then the attraction would not gain enough audience. So they are going to push fantasmic to the weekend.

That's one version of saying it, but I have another. They don't want to spend the money it takes to run Fantasmic! every night anymore, and they have this new attraction on the way. So this new attraction becomes just what Disney thinks they need to take the sting out of not having Fantasmic! showing on weeknights. After all we humble park guests should be grateful to have this wonderful new attraction. We should bow down and kiss Jay Rasulo's shoes for having a couple nights a week to have both Fantasmic! and Idol. That's true Disney magic right there.

IMO, that's way too much pressure to put on any new & unproven attraction, even if it's full of trademarks like Idol. But the worst part about it is, their little strategy will most likely succeed. This is after all, the same WDW that reduces operating hours, and then gives them back only to those who've spent money on WDW hotel rooms, hard ticket events, or both.

They are cutting Entertainment costs all over the resort Woody's Cowboy Camp is going away. Just like DLR is cutting entertainment as well. There is going to be no show in Aladdins Oasis until summer of 09, Drawn to the Magic is leaving with no planned replacement.

I believe September 27th is the last day. I could be wrong, but that seems to be the say a lot of the entertainment is going down.

Well i know that and woody's round up is going away...so is a few characters like bert, timon, and others. I think the removal of the family fun day parade will open the door for the new celebration show that is going to happen on main street.
