Default Is the WDW Resort going overboard with Articulated Characters in shows?

So i'm not quite sure where to post this but have you realized that more and more shows @ any od the WDW parks now feature articulated characters in them? Are the parks taking these too far or are they beneficial to the shows?

I think it adds A LOT to the shows and parades. To actually see the characters blink and talk like in cartoons...may just extend the "belief" for youngsters! I like it.

So far as I know, Dream Along and FoLK are the only two shows that use them so far, but they're slowly trying to integrate them more and more. It's a neat thing - why not use it?

Ok just so I have my opinion thrown in here...I think the articulated characters are very cool myself...but the reason I'm asking is b/c I've heard cast members complaining that perhaps the characters that meet with guests will now b expected 2 do so as well and so I was wanting 2 maybe kno the general public's view on the characters...

That kind of costumes with moving mouths and blinking eyes seems like a good idea for shows. I'm not too sure it'll be good for just people wearing them in the park for people to meet and greet them.

Well, just think of this, kids see their favorite characters in cartoons talking, blinking, and everything else, and to come to Disneyland and just see them, well, not what they expected, but if they do the same in cartoons than in real life (I mean humanly possible things to do), well, canīt get any more magical than that. . .

I think it would be neat if they used the technology in Fantasmic! even though nobody would be able to see it...

They do a tiny bit...the "old hag" from Snow White's mouth moves as she talks 2 the magic mirror but you're right most people don't see it...

I love it!! It adds a whimsical touch of realism that makes me very happy. I know it sounds strange but part of my enjoment at DL is watching it through the eyes of awe-struck children. Seeing a small child overwhelmed that his favorite character is there, real as life, talking to him makes me so happy. So if characters can become more realistic (and less like their faces are set in stone, unable to move) then I'm all for it. I think Articulated characters are aweome!
