Has anyone or know of anyone who took a honeymoon trip to Disney World. If so any advise? How long did you stay? When did you book your trip? Etc... Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

I honeymooned at WDW in 1991 and went again for our 10th in 2001.
Well, there is a lot of advice I could give but a lot depends on you (and your pocket book.) My trip was bankrolled by a very nice, rich sister. I stayed at the Contemporary (3 days) and Grand Floridian (3 days) in the concierge suites at both. Talk about spoiled! Maybe you can't afford that - you would still do very nice staying at one of the premium reports. In our return trip we stayed at the Poly and when we return for our 20th we will be at the Poly again. I love it! If premium is a bit out of the budget then scrap together for at least a moderate. The cheapo's are nice but just don;t do it for me. How long to go? How much money do you have. Serious, go for as long as you can. Honeymoon was 7 days and trip 2 was 9 days. I say go for as long as you can because - how shall I put this - you will have more adventures being on your honeymoon then just being in the Parks; if you know what I mean. These other activities take time from being in the Park; so stay as long as you can to enjoy both. You ask when, do you mean what time of year? I love going during the slow seasons of early Oct, mid Jan, etc. I have been in late April (after the Spring Breaks) during the Spring and Garden which is very cool. I hate the packed times and I would highly recommend not going at that time. That is all I can think of off the top of my head. Feel free to post followup questions. RU

the wife and I honeymooned at WDW in late May/early June of 2006. we were there for 11 days/10 Nights and spent the entire time at the Wilderness Lodge Resort (which I loved very much). we had a "woods view" room, which ended up being a ground floor room next to a pond with surrounding pine forest... which meant that every morning we got to feed animals (nothing too big. rabbits and birds mostly) from the food we got from the snack bar, which was right around the corner from our room.
If I had any suggestions, I guess it would be to, like ru42 said, stay as long as you can. I would sacrifice a nicer room for a longer stay, personally. Also, we were on the "Premium Plan," which we loved. This exact plan is not around anymore, but it was a plan that included unlimited dining (we had three TS meals a day, except one night we went to Victoria & Albert's, which wasn't included on the Premium Plan). It also included tickets to Cirque du Soleil (which was awesome), tickets to the Water Parks, mini golf, and all that other side attraction stuff (I personally grew to love Typhoon Lagoon more than Blizzard Beach), and unlimited recreation (which we only used once, to parasail from the Contemporary Resort, which I highly recommend. you can see the Magic Kingdom from a bird's eye view!). So, I said all that to say that I would purchase some sort of package (depending on what you want out of your honeymoon) so that you won't have to worry about anything once you get down there. It's nice being there and knowing that you can spend every cent you have with you on frivolous things like souvenirs or tasty treats. Most of all, have fun and try not to forget that, even though you're in one of the most exciting and fun places on earth, you're still on your honeymoon.
