Default Fast Pass Question

I have a question regarding the fast pass system at Walt Disney World. Can you return anytime after the stated start time of your fast pass ticket. For example if your return time on the FP is 10:00am to 11:00am, can you return anytime in the day after 10:00am and use your FP or do you have to return with in the one hour window stated on the FP. For instance if my return time is 10:00am to 11:00am can I come back at say 3:00pm and use that FP? At Disneyland you can return anytime after the start time before the park closes, I had FP for 10:00am return times that I used at 9:00PM that night so I was wondering if they allow you to do that at Walt Disney World as well or if they only allow you to use it in the 1 hour window stated on the FP.

I'm just basing this off of the policy that DL uses. From what I know once you're past that hour window that fast pass has expired. Because they issue so many it would be too chaotic for people to return after the hour window time they issue on the ticket. If your fast pass is good between 10am and 11am it has to be used between that time, if not then you'll have to get another and then wait again until it's good.

you have to come between 10-11 if it says so. After 11 i dont think it would work.

If your 10 min after your window they let you. If your 20 min after it usually depends on the person. I got on CS at 11:08 and it expired at 11:00 and they still let me use it.

Actually... according to a CM, FastPasses are good all day. During our last trip (Disneyland) we would get SM FastPass as soon as the park opened and they expired few hours after, we didn't use them until nearly closing.

Lol, I think I've used an expired Fastpass before for Thunder Mountain, it worked. But, I wouldn't say thats allowed, I think it depends on whether the CM you hand it to really pays attention to the times on your passes or not.. I don't really know.

FastPasses are good all day and here's why: What if you're on a ride, it breaks down, and because of that you couldn't make your FP window?

It started there, and the list of excuses and whining became so much that this policy was very quietly put in place. Now the CMs are trained to only look at the first time - to make sure your window is open before you're allowed entry. As long as that time has passed, you won't be turned away.

Thanks guys for your replies, I know how the Disneyland FP works as I was jsut there and they allowed everyone to use their FP anytime after the start time, for instance I would get a FP in the morning for Spacemountain and would then return at night to use it and it was not a problem, I found that out from the CM's. My question was does this work the same way at Walt Disney World in Florida?

They let you use "expired fastpasses" Only for the day it's issued. The only time they are not valid is before the time issued.

With our new policy that just came into effect December 1, 2006 you now have to be in that time frame or else no go, however I believe they are allowed to leave you 10 minutes after, maybe into 30 depending on the reason, but 10 max. 30 max. for a good reaons.

Yea, One thing tho, we went to Star Tours at MGM and the line was really long so we got fp's and we got there about three minutes early, the CM made us wait until it was time. It was akward bc she was staring at us the whole time and giving us the evil eye.

So far I have found nothing to confirm this, nor does it make sense. Those same breakdown arguements would just come right back & they'd have the same problems they have before they insituted the only look at the first time policy. It would be pointless to return to the old policy. They may as well just say 'Return anytime after XX:XX' on the ticket. It's a smarter policy and would save ink.

Yeah there'd probably be a crunch at the end of night at certain attractions, but since most attractions are empty at night, I don't think it would be that big of a deal.
