Default Disney Dining Package.

Does anyone know when Walt Disney World will offer the Dining Package for free this year? They did it last year to get people to come during the slow season. Any ideas?

Hmmmmm...no clue as to when it will be free again. I thought in past years it was in the Fall, like a few weeks in Sept. or Oct., but I'm not sure.

One thing I will say is that it might be worth it to buy it if they don't have it for free. This, of course, depends on a lot of factors, like how many people are going and for how many days, how much they can eat etc. etc.

Hopefully you get it for free. If not, buying it might still be cheaper for you. It was for us on our trip in Feb. '06. Saved $150+ on that trip by purchasing the Dining Plan!

Good info (and a darn good website in general!!) here:
http://allearsnet.com/pl/packages07a.htm

The relevant paragraph from that site...
Is the Dining Plan Worth the Money?

It depends:

-- Florida residents and Annual Passholders will probably find that the Disney Dining Experience card would be a better deal, since to get the Dining Plan they would have to pay for a vacation package including rooms and add-on tickets they don't need.

-- If your family likes to eat a lot of food every day and doesn't mind taking a lot of time away from touring the parks for a sit-down meal every night, then it can be a pretty good deal. If you are a family of light eaters, picky eaters, or prefer buffets and/or counter-service style food, the plan is probably not a good deal for you.

Well, last year they had the Dining Package for free during the summer. I don't know if they'll do it again this year. If they do it again for free, by all means go for it!

^ 2 important notes with that...

1) Airfare is NOT included
2) Only the most basic MYW ticket is included. Park-hopping, water parks, no-expiration, etc is all additional fee per person.
