I would have to agree with Stormrider that the front and back cars of the train are the best. I have also rode that ride have 5 times in a row. Expedition Everest is one of the best Disney rides I have ever been on too.

It's a different sort of system. It utilizes a rotating track system for the two transfers. The first, you are looking at destroyed track in front of you, the track that just put you there spins 180 degrees so that the second piece of track underneath it allows you to go straight backwards.

After the backwards section, you watch the (projected) yeti destroy the track ahead of you. Here, the transfer piece rotates allowing a shift to the left so you can hit the man drop.

My ex took a vid of this ride and put it on facebook....it was soo cool! I love the fact that you go backwards on it. Some say you go upside down but you dont...you just fall backwards and a bit up the mountain again. I love the fact that people compare the two mountains. The moster at disneyland is an Abominable snowman (harold) and the one at everest is a Yeti(Betty!) so they are closely related but still different. The mountains are different and yet they have the same original thought. The ride in disneyland have the Matterhorn mountain and the one in animal kingdom is Everest. These are two different mountains but they have a similair eerie legend.

My favorite Imagineering masterpiece of all time... well, maybe it's a tie with WDW's Tower of Terror. I love EVERYTHING about it -
1. climbing that hill at the beginning (soo long and soo steep!);
2. finding the broken track up ahead (my first time, I was in first row and didn't expect it at all!!);
3. realizing (on your first time) that there's only one way from the broken track: BACKWARDS!
4. going backwards in pitch darkness!
5. Finding the Yeti- absolutely fantastic animatronic piece
6. the smoothness and at the same time, the fear of it all- hands down, this ride (esp. at night) is THE SCARIEST disney experience out there.
Did I mention I LOVE Everest?? and I've only ridden it once! I was frankly disappointed with AK (at least that first time I went there), but Everest at the very end of the day made the admission absolutely worth it!

It's a good thing that Yeti ripped up the track in that spot. Without the broken track barrier, that would be an open cliffside!

Sorry to bring up an older topic but I have a quick question/request. About a year ago a channel on youtube had a 5-part series of how Imagineering created Everest. It has been gone since the user's account was suspended. Does anyone know where I may be able to view these episodes....can't find any on youtube except for one by Discovery thats in german. Any help would be appreciated.
(and if someone posted a similar post I am sorry I did look before I asked lol)
