Well, even Joe Rohde compared Everest to The Matterhorn.

They both have a Yeti.

Yeah, and the movies The Fly and Pinocchio both have prominent roles for insects. Doesn't mean they're related at all.

Apples & oranges are both fruits, you're saying we can't compare those either? Ack!

Just a tidbit of information.

Disneyland doesn't have yetis.

We have Abominable Snow men.

Eh, they're all the same thing. Yet, if you look at Expedition Everest's merchandise, they insist their Yeti is white like our Harold is. But, when you ride the thing, you see a Yeti as brown as can be. Weird...

Ha ha ha... PeoplemoverMatt, you're awesome. I don't think it would have ever occured to me to compare The Fly and Pinocchio; however, you do raise a valid point.

Ultimately, the Matterhorna and Expedition Everest are so very different that I don't think comparing them is appropriate. Everest is slightly terrifying compared to the Matterhorn. But it is one of my favorite rides at WDW.

yeah i'd have to agree with you. they are both just very unique. you have to ride everest to get the feel for it because if you're just watching the video, you arent really giving the ride much justice. but it seriously is my favorite ride in wdw too. :)

Ok I gotta go out on a limb and say maybe its a summer coat winter coat thing?? Maybe the white one is the winter coat for chamoflage and the brown is summer to blend into the mountains?? Yeah yeah ok its a stretch but makes sense.

Except in DAK, there's snow all year round on the mountain.

Okay.. about Everest: When I go to WDW I SO want to go on this..

And about the whole yeti bigfoot arguement, who cares, it's hust a huge monkey. *rolls eyes*

Oh, what happens going backwards? It looked like a huge helix.. or going upside down almost? (But that's not really possible now, right?) And about Everest being the BEST ride Disney ever built (or not), it's JUST an opinion.. who's to say that it's right or wrong? *shrug*

^ It's just a pretty gnarly helix in the dark.

I don't understand why they market white Yetis/Abominable Snowmen in Florida when Hubert is clearly brown but refuse to sell any Harold products in Disneyland at all. My friend picked me up a Harold/Hubert plush from Florida and said that all of the materials had white creatures on them instead of brown.

Well it was my first time going to disney with my family and when we first got on i was shaking!! But when you go backwards it somewhat feels like you are going upside down, and its funny that you mention that because just the other day my brother said it felt like he was going upside down!! But one point of advice i want to give you is 1) Dont sit in thee front cart! and 2) Dont ride everest with a 9 year old!!LOL

Wbs

The front and back cars of the train are the best! I mean, I rode the attraction 5 times when I was there in 2006 and the back was my absolute favorite spot. Quick question: why not go with a 9-year-old? I was there with my cousin and he has just turned 8 and he loved it! But then later on I took him to MGM Studios to go on Tower and he bugged out of that one cryin....ooops, lol.
