The wand was [and tecnically still is] in EPCOT which is located in Walt Disney World, not Disneyland.

As for the Studio's icon, I always considered, and still consider, the Earful Tower to be it's icon.

^ What signage do you mean?

-- So, that's what the Chinese Theater looks like. Now, I know.

I'm glad it's gone!!!! The reason it was there was for the millenium celebration and originally said 2000 and not Epcot. The word EPCOT was added because it was no longer the year 2000(DUH!). I think it became a real eyesore! I think just seeing SE without the sign is better. It looks more beautiful.

AGREED!!!

Also, SE looks like it did on the outside as it did 25 years ago! Perfect for Epcot's 25th!

I'm personally glad it's gone. I went to WDW for the first time last April, and seeing Spaceship Earth for the first time was amazing; it looked pristine and dignified. If there had been a giant wand next to it, it would've looked like a joke.

Agreed. I like it better without the wand.

And im sorry, i hate to be nitpickey, but it's not EPCOT anymore, it's Epcot.

EPCOT was an acronym for Experimental Prototype City/Community (disputed) Of Tomorrow. EPCOT was Walt's vision for a city of the future where people could "work, live, and play". Obviously it didn't turn out that way, but the name Epcot still stuck, but they dropped the acronym.

Well at least they're doing something for EPCOT. Everyone bad mouths it but it's one of my favorite parks to visit.

Nope! The wand was removed as part of a lengthy refurb for SSE in the latter part of 2007, through the beginning of 2008. The wand never saw 2008 at all.
