I haven't been on the ride yet because when we went we ran out of time.
What kind of ride is it? A rollercoaster or simulater? Does it invert and can you control it? What is your overall thought of the attraction?

On Mission Space you sit in a little 4-person pod that simulates the motion of your spaceflight. Your pod is connected with 4-5 other pods on a centrifuge that spins in circles so you also feel fairly the intense G-forces that astronauts feel during blast-off & landing. The combination of the two make for a really fun experience.
If you'd rather not have the G-forces, there is an alternative version called 'Team Green' that offers the exact same ride experience just without the spinning/G-forces. But you're not just sitting, watching & feeling the experience along for the ride, no. Your group of 4 are the crew of the ship & you must work together as a team. During the flight, each member of the team has 2 functions to perform, each of which are completed by pressing buttons. Your Capcom, Gary Sinise, will let you know when it's time to press your buttons. It's a state of the art ride experience that gives riders an individual Star Tours-esque simulator experience, combines it with G-forces, and adds a great teamwork-interactive element. Definitely not to be missed! Here's a photo of the little 4-person pod that I took, except only 2 of the positions are visible... ![]() -- PMM

This is truely EPCOT's scariest ride and probably the most thrilling ride Disney has ever constructed. The forces on the beginning launch are probably even more intense than on any roller coaster that I have been on so that definitly says something. A not to be missed attraction and it is probably worth a wait under 90 minutes, if it is over, FASTPASS it. Green usually doesn't have that long of a line so if you just want to say you did it and move on, that is probably going to be 30 or less.
It is an amazing ride and something not to be missed. - Zach

My favorite ride at Epcot. I recommend the Orange Team, much more thrilling than the Green Team. Just make sure you follow the rules: look straight ahead (not side to side) and don't close your eyes. If you break the rules, you might lose your lunch! If you follow the rules, you'll have a great time!

this ride was one of my favorites when I was there at Epcot, but to me Blast off wasn't that intense, the descent into the atmosphere of Mars was the most intense part same with the sling shot around the moon. over all it is defenetly not to be missed.

Some very cool facts and advice, thanks guys!
Just one more question though, does the ride go upside down or just spin very fast right side up? Thanks for the help.

Also, this is the first time any Disney attraction was offered in two different experiences.

There really isn't anything abnormal or extreme about Mission: Space. The principle of the ride is based on circular motion and uses that to create the sensation of G-forces on you during the ride. That and normal simulator-type shaking is the only thing that happens to you on this ride, and that's the "Team Orange - Intense" version. Team Green takes the circular motion out completely, reducing the ride to a more individual version of Star Tours! Seriously! Why this ride's almost always met with fear & worry, I really don't know. There isn't anything Mission: Space does that carnival rides haven't been doing for decades.
