Nemo is entirely unnecessary for education, Epcot, and the Seas. Just because there is a movie about a lost, handicapped fish doesn't mean he needs to be involoved, in any way, with Epcot or the Epcot spirit. There's a whole lot of things to learn about a world that's surface is 75% water. Personally, I have learned a lot about oceanography without the aid of a clown fish.

OMG, sooooooo true!! Disney obviously thought Nemo would appeal with today's "overly entertained" generation. Nemo doesn't bug me, but kids seriously are overly entertained!
Have you seen what the Disney Channel has done to a new generation...??? >D

UHHHGGG! It's just awful!!!

I really wish The living Seas could be the way is was many years ago! The only reason I went nuts the other day and said "Nemo saved the attraction" (partially true) was because the last time my brother and I went to WDW, we went in the living seas (before it became Nemo) and though, "wow, this place went down the gutter"(It used to be sooooooooooooooo much better). I hope I didn't make anyone think I thought the Nemo replacement was better (ihaven't even been inside! i've only seen videos and pictures! XD).

They could have brought those things back without Nemo.

Truth be told. I think that the nemo add on was a very good idea. no real need to discard it. but of course...a bit more subtle Finding nemo elements could be. the flaw is however, not everyone likes finding nemo. if it was still the lving seas it appeal more. it was more general...of course then it was just a nice little aquarium. as long as they don't touch that beauiful restaraunt the world calls coral reef by making it nemo tack-y...then I'm fine. I think it isn't too flashy...and should stay (but I want the name back!)

The name change and the ride change are my two Pet-Peeves about the refurb. If the Hydrolators, Sea Cabs and name were left alone Nemo elements would be fine. Its just not good marketing to call it the Seas with Nemo & Friends. It instantly turns off teenage and adult audiences. Epcot is a place for the whole family to learn about the world around them.

Nice posts. I think you both have very good points.
Although I doubt Disney would bring back the original Living Seas. I used to looove the original Living Seas as a kid, but they started taking out so much stuff from the attraction, and Nemo does brighten it up a little. I've only seen videos and pictures of it, but the clammoblie ride isn't great, but it serves, I guess, as an intro to the pavillion.

Both of you ARE right about how Nemo doesn't appeal to everyone, like most teenagers who go to the parks (I am a teenager myself, but I am a Disney fan )
Obviously, Most teenagers don't like movies like Nemo because it's a family film. This is from my thread for rude guests at Disneyland, a VERY good example on Nemo's appeal:

yadda yadda yadda. i don't care who you are, everyone likes disney.

I think the name the Living Seas was way better! But can you imagine if it was still called the Living seas (with the Nemo stuff still in it) and a person who hated Finding Nemo goes in? I guess the new name is almost like a warning.
I doubt the sea cabs would come back though since it was taken out like...maybe ten years ago( sniff, sniff-the begginng of the end of the Living Seas). The Living Seas would be better if it were remodeled to be more like the way it used to be, but when will that happen? Possibly never, unfortunately

of course....better than being a parent hating, life hating, narrow minded teenager who hates learning. I Know too many of those. at least when you were 3, you actually cared about things. like : why you were sitting in a clam-mobile in the first place or how are you fitting in the clam.. but teenagers now seem to get annoyed at the tiniest amount of learning. so if I were to choose. I'd go back to being 3....well a very intelligent and well versed three year old. but 3 none the less

Seeing a general theme here? That's what they're really learning. Sad...
