Default Gran Fiesta Tour, featuring the Three Caballeros in Mexico NOW OPEN!

El Rio del Tiempo has reopened in Mexico, well actually it's now called the Gran Fiesta Tour, starring the Three Caballeros. The ride now features Jose, Panchito, and Donal Duck on a trip around Mexico. www.allearsnet.com has some pictures of the new decorations. Check it out!

My opinions on the new ride are mixed. While it looks like a fun little ride, It does not teach you about Mexican culture which is supposed to be the point of Epcot.

I Don't know what to say about this, i'ts great (a needed refurbishment) and having the three caballeros, but it has lost the main point of the ride, Mexican Culture. Anyways is great , i liked it

i dont like the ride because its supposed to be a permanent world fair not a cheap amusement park trying to rip off people.

and plus epcots world showcase is supposed to learn about culture of other countrys. so in conclusion disney is trying to be cheap.

They oughta just rename the ride "Finding Donald"

I just saw a youtube video of the ride. It actually looks pretty cool! First, I loved the Three Caballeros when I was a kid. It was such a colordul movie and Panchito and Jose were pretty cool. I'm glad that they're now in the parks.
The animation looks cool and I love how the "Three Caballeros" song is used as the ride's theme song. I still think Disney managed to leave some Mexican culture in it. I agree, they could put more but it's decent now.

Overall, I like this ride, but then again...I have a habit for liking what other people dislike.

'Course the big question is going to be how the GP receives this new offering in the Mexico pavilion. Will there be a crowd increase or will there simply be a short-term marginal increase giving way to the same ol' basically nothing. Only time will tell.

Having been on the attraction before the refurb I can tell you with almost 100% certainty its the SAME thing except they seemed to throw the characters in it like in one scene there is a Donald pinata. Sorry gotta give this the thumbs down its just the same attraction with characters thrown over the top of it because heaven forbid there is a Disney attraction that doesnt have a character assigned to it

The focus is now on finding Donald. They threw out the entire ancient culture scene and replaced it with Jose and Panchito looking for Donald. I think thats very sad that they would throw out Mexicos ancient history for cartoons. Having said that I do think the Cabelleros could have been added more tastefully and help educate the guests on what they are seeing and not just zoom by on their flying carpet. They missed some great oppurtunities to sell Mexico to the public. A few things i do like about the change is they got rid of the market seller scene and that puppet carousel thing. Epcots mission is to educate and it missed the oppurtunity to create a very entertaining and informative look at Mexico.

Well, that was actually WALT Disneys vision... and the Disney company threw away allready 99% of Walt's basic idea, immediately after his death...
Who stil knows that Epcot is the letterword for Experimental prototype city of tomorrow... wich had to be build (NO amusement park, but an actual normal-but-experimental city of 50000 people...) but the project was immediately cancelled after Walt's death, and the letterword was recycled, totally meaningless, for this themepark there is now....
So, if the countries that invested originally to have a pavillion on the spot get TIRED now, it is clear WHY...

Some thought after the one above here...
The "will" of people is seldom executed after their death... I mean: not the written down legal will, but the words and visions someone has about the future, his or her ideas becoming true... If this this kind of will is followed up, this action is called "RESPECT". Nobody after WALT has shown him respect...
Very sorry to say this... (His name is only used for the money machine...)

I went on this last Wednesdsay... very fun ride, a big improvement over El Rio. Sure they took out the song, but they also took out that creepy carousel. The characters were very well integrated into the Mexican scenes, and the animation was great. My only suggestion for improvement is to use Three Caballeros AA's instead of screens at the end of the ride. Ah well, I enjoyed it!

Finally, someone likes the overlay! Yeah, they could use AA's for the end, but it was good nonetheless!
