Default Magic Kingdom Characters

I personally think that the Disney characters aren't as good as the ones at Disneyland. I've been to both Disneyland & The Magic Kingdom & I must say that the characters in California are much more animated than the one's in Florida. The characters in California go on the attractions & play jokes & pranks on the park guests while the Florida ones just stand there signing autographs (some even forget to smile sometimes!) A good example of this difference is at Disneyland with The Mad Hatter & Alice characters. They go on the Fantasyland attractions sometimes & even have their own little musical chairs show at the Coca-Cola Corner. But when I went to The Magic Kingdom, I saw the two out front of The Mad Tea Party & all they ever did was sign autographs & takes pictures with the very occasional comedic banter. Now I've been to Disneyland way more times than Walt Disney World so I don't know if this was just an uninteresting Hatter & Alice. I've also begun to realize that the CMs at Disney World are much more stuffy & strict so I don't know if that played a role. Anyways has anyone else realized this difference or am I just being my usual Disney fan nerd self? :D

I've only seen DL vids with the characters basically interacting with each other and guests in a fun way, and I did see Chip and Dale and Goofy all ride the Rescue Rangers Coaster in person once, and NEVER once in my life have I seen a WDW one with characters doing that fun stuff, so I guess you're right. But it may be a more strict thing with management in WDW whereas DL's is a little more layed back.

I think this may be because since in DL there are less crowds the CMs are a bit more animated and in MK the crowds are huge therefore the CMs wont play jokes with everyone or really get animated.

I have never been to WDW, but I have heard/seen in videos this sort of thing.

Perhaps it's that the characters at WDW are not allowed to interact as much. I can't imagine why, though.

I am not saying that Disneyland characters are better, since I have not seen this for myself. I have also heard that some WDW characters are just as wonderful as DL ones.

I think this is somewhat true. But I know when I went to WDW to meet the Mad Hatter and Alice at the Magic Kingdom before each of their sets they would ride the Teacups with a few guests then start their M&G. Also at WDW I went to a character breakfast and the Mad Hatter was seriously amazingly interactive with me. Also I tend to notice there are move "funny, interactive" videos on the web of DL than WDW. But if you look on YouTube there are a few jems. Like some Anastasia and Drizilla, they are awesome at the Magic Kingdom and should be added to the line up at DL.

me too!!!!!

I've never been to DL so i can't REALLY compare, but the WDW characters are pretty interactive. However, they normally don't do alot of the "fun stuff" that you guys are describing...

I totally agree with this! Having the Stepsisters at DL would be so much fun.

DL-DHI & alyx92 Haha i'm glad someone gets it haha.

But seriously compared to WDW, Disneyland's character selection is minimum. So it kind of balances out at some point.

Yeah, there seems to be more characters at WDW, but somehow I do like Disneyland characters better. I feel alot more at home with them. I've been down to WDW twice and sometimes I found some characters to be a little stiff. Other than that I think they are just fine.

I wish they would make Captain Jack Sparrow a meet and greet character at WDW. That would be the coolest thing ever!!
