Default Disney Dreams Come True Parade

Just wondering, does anyone have a video of the "alternate" parade? When it loops around Main Street, U.S.A.?

Hmmm..i keep hearing all about an alternate parade but from what i was told it is basically the same thing just a few floats modified or taken out because of the turn they need to do at the Hub. What is suppose to be different in the parade?

Its the same parade, just driven closer together, going from Firehouse Gate up MS around the hub, they all park in there, until Princess passes the turn, then the front goes back down.

If you look at this photo update you can see picture and video.

I was just curious on how the parade looked while doing the modified route.

Seems like it gets pretty tight up there in the hub when all the float are waiting for clearance.

It looks really stupid. And to correct myself. The Romance Unit was removed from the parade. The Princes and Princesses, including Fairy Godmother are on the Finale unit (aka Princess aka Glass Castle) which instead plays the Romance Units audio track with Fairy Godmother standing on a tower at the back.

Would never have fit. They had horticulture out there ready to trim branches just in case. Lucky for them they saw that it wasnt going to fit through, so they scrapped that idea. Although parades ran that way in 1988, but they werent as tall and large.

And its only temporary guys...just for a bit until the bridge is fixed. They could have canceled both parades. But they did not want to dissapoint the guests....so they gave them the next best thing....

Well they did cancel Spectro for the two weeks the bridge is down, thats because the hitched units would never fit int eh hub along with the others. No matter if you cut things out. Plus there would have to be extra programming done in DACS, because the lighting is timed to go off with the audio, if they audio is altered, the lighting would have to be as well.

So they gave them this altered route with two showings of the day parade to compensate for Spectro being down.

HAHAHAH...fixed.....you mean replaced.

Fixed/repalced...it does not matter..the bridge is down and thats whats causing this parade change. I saw the parade yesterday and it looks fine. It is true that it is not better but at least the way they do it now, you can see both sides to the floats....

They added more showings. Didn't you read the notice on the hub? Im sure you would have seen it.

In our ongoing quest for continuous improvement, the Magic Kingdom Liberty Square Bridge will be closed from Friday, August 15 through Friday, August 29, 2008, for routine maintenance. The refurbished bridge is scheduled to reopen on Saturday, August 30. During this “Maintaining the Magic” refurbishment, we are reducing the grade on the bridge, making it easier to navigate for the parade vehicles, carts and other hand-pushed assets that will travel across the bridge, once it’s reopened.

While the Liberty Square Bridge is closed for refurbishment, additional entertainment enhancements will be offered to minimize any impact this closure might have on our shows and our Guest experience, including the following:

* In addition to our normal 3pm Disney Dreams Come True Parade, a second Disney’s Dream Come True Parade is planned for 7pm.
* Both Disney Dreams Come True Parades will follow a modified route, traveling from Town Square down Main Street, U.S.A., and circling around the Hub and back down Main Street, U.S.A, to step-off at the Fire House area gate.
* Because the SpectroMagic parade floats are too large for the modified parade route, SpectroMagic will not be performed from August 15-29. However, additional experiences will be offered in the evening, including additional Castle Shows, extended evening Character meet-and-greets in Town Square and additional performances of the Woody’s Cowboy Camp show.
* Wishes fireworks will be performed as scheduled.

Well, the parade tried to make a full return today! We got most of the floats before the rain hit! The new bridge smells nice and new-wood-y.

What color is it? Or is it still the same as before?
