Disney world is not celebrating miley cyrus's birthday...lol. just disneyland for her 16th birthday. Aparently the lights are just going up early for the exact reason for them, For christmas.

And that they just installed new LED lighting fixtures on the castle replacing the old dichroic ones. So they want to test the contrast between the two.

The old Irideon AR500s were made back in the 80s and were stopped being produced about 9 years ago.

OK!! SO I found out why they are putting the lights up early....Well its another rumor but it sort of makes sense. And it does have to do with Milie Cyrus. It turns out that she is suppose to be doing a small concert on the stage and they wanted to air it during christmas sooooo thats why the lights are going up early! So technically we all were right! lol

LOL. my source? I heard it from my friend who is also a cast member. But like i said, it is only a rumor. I am not 100 percent sure yet.

I highly doubt they would just put the lights up for her, its not worth the time and effort. Plus the castle just got a whole LED makeover replacing the AR500s. A friend of mine in MK Technical Services told me that they were testing the two together to test the contrast between the two. Plus as of right now, the only parts of the castle covered are the turrets. No crane has arrived yet to install the rest. And if the rumor of them adding it to the back is true, a crane would be needed. Now when is the date of the so called concert they are holding. Cause I highly doubt that she would be singing at WDW on the 3rd, then flying out to DLR for the 5th. Plus if they were going to air it during Christmas, that means they would have to set up all the Christmas decor on the castle stage. And from what Im told the date that originally canceled the Oct 3rd MNSSHP, is back on.

May I ask what department you work in?

Well, they do have to make sure everything fits where it should, if they need anything else, wat is working or not, how is it going to fit, and christmas is only about 3 months away! not that far. Its getting darker earlier already. Noooo!!!!!!!

but yea, just normal testing n stuff. I think they should keep them up all year round! haha

I went to WDW last year for christmas and they had the lights on the castle. They were so pretty. I took a picture of it on my cell phone. I love it when they make the castle look purple. I am going again this year sometime in december. Don't know what day though. We get free tickets in january. :)
