She is probably having her 16th birthday there. And i can understand that she would want her sweet 16 to be amazing so the lights on the castle sound cool. Looking at some earlier posts about if they put up the decorations this early and stuff, no they do not. Christmas decorations do not go up this early. The castle lights that they do for christmas going up this early is a ireglaur. They don't usually put up these lights until the end of october, i know this because I worked in fantasyland and they brought in this ginormas crain that made us have to block off half of our shops doors. As for the taping of the christmas shows, they definetly dont do it this early. Last year I went to the taping and they did it around the end of november.

I am still shocked they would put up the christmast lights for her though. I think she would have to pay for the labor of this if thats what she wanted. Are we absolutley sure they are the same lights????

They are the exact same lights. They are going up early because it takes a long long long time to hang, cable, string 500 strobes through the nets, and program them. They might be even adding them to the back of the castle so they could be going up early for that as well.

for what its worth i just remembered watching a show on the Travel Channel and they said they start at the end of Aug. or is it Sept. i for get but i heard they start early!

To me that is still too early. the "season" should begin at Thanksgiving. Then again these days i can actually picture some radios starting their 24 hour Christmas music period at midnight on Halloween night.

There are a few things different in store for this year, thats why its going up early, and there is a 5 year plan on the castle lights, so expect good things.

Like i said, the christmas lights went up last year around october. Not august or september. I remember cause I was there...lol. The reason they went up so early (late october) is because it takes lots on man power to put them up and they can not do it durring the day. Also the team that puts them up also have other jobs they have to do. SO they start putting them up the end of october and thw job is usually finshed mid november ready for christmas and christmas party time!

humm i guess i heard wrong ! why would they spend all that time putting up lights in August then just take em down then do the same thing in a month or two?

If they put the up, they wont take them down. They will just leave them on the castle. It would be pointless to remove them.

i was talking to my dad about this and he remembers the same video we saw and with out telling him what was going on he told me it was around Aug. or Sept. when they put on the lights! but IDK i could be wrong!

The OC Register just covered the Miley Cyrus birthday thang, and they said:

The party date is Oct. 5, while Cyrus’ real birthday is Nov. 23. Disney said the party is being held a month in advance because by Nov. 23 Disney’s holiday decorations would be displayed — interfering with the planned decorations for Cyrus’ birthday party.

So we can now say that putting up the christmas lights early is not for milie cyrus's birthday....Last year they did not put them up till october (at the end of it) but maybe because they got such a great review last year when they did it they wanted to put the lights up a bit ealier. Because last year the castle lights did not light up until the mid of november. Maybe now they want the christmas lights to be put up and start on the first of november. One thing i learned working for disney is that they always change their minds. they are always busy working trying to create new things...They must have something up their sleeve to make this christmas better than the last....We shall see when it comes.
