Post Counts

Just out of curiosity, I was wondering if the counter for every time you posted somthing is coming back or not.

You can see your number of posts in your public profile.

But the count isn't very accurate. The big crash last winter deleted alot of the posts, and for a few other reasons.

i dont really pay attention to post count really but it shows i only have 140 posts.... i rlly didnt think i had that little amount of posts

I've got 3,332 but I think I really have somewhere around, 3,500 or something. The crash deleted posts. It used to be under the avatar, but people were posting just to get that count higher. It doesn't really matter how many posts you have, It just is kinda cool to realize how many posts you've made (and how many hours you've procrastinated! lol)

I remember I used to have a lot more posts too.
Oh well, post count numbers shouldn't have to be a big deal.

At this time, we have no plans to reintroduce the post count feature because of the aforementioned abuse. However, the VF Staff can still see post counts for all members. We have disabled the feature due to the low quality posting activity associated with gaining greater post counts, just to increase that number.

The weird thing is I vividly remember getting to 1000 posts sometime last year, and now a year later I am at 732 or something.

We have changed the way the system counts posts. At this point in time all post counts are reset to 0.

i had totally forgotten about the post counter! I vaguely remember seeing it but then never really thought about it again. What were people doing? Posting one word at a time to get the ticker up? haha

There is a problem with everone having a post count of zero: No one can post links or photos.

If you're going to have everyone's post counts at zero, why have them as part of the public profile at all?

Because its harder and harder to edit the public profile every time we update the site just to make your post counts disappear. This does the same thing and we never have to update it.
