We are huge Canon fans in this house. All of the camera equipment my husband uses in his sports photography business is Canon, and he has had great success with it. If you want specifics why, I will ask him to post something here for you =)

If you give me specifics why, then I probably won't understand it. And I have a Cannon PowerShot SD 306 6.0 Megapixles. And I tried a Nikon, and the flash takes a while, and the picture quality isn't really great. Can you give specifics please? That would be great!

Hi, this is Piglet's husband. With Canon, the prime lenses (the "L" series"--the professional lenses) are sharper and focus faster than Nikon. All Canon lenses focus faster--period. Your camera is a point and shoot--you will need to go to a SLR for better quality shots. Hope this helps you =)

SLR means single-lens reflex.

what is your budget? the other cool thing to are the SLR take the picture fast as to the point and shoot that take time to save. i like canon and nikon but i am looking to get a D80 and that's 10.2Mp the d200 is 12.4 but your talking $$$$$$ for that.
