Default Water flows into DCA bay

Water flows into Disney’s California Adventure bay

Water flows into Disney’s California Adventure bay

Orange County Register
Crews today began refilling Paradise Bay in Disney’s California Adventure. The bay has been empty for almost a year so workers could install the infrastructure for the upcoming World of Color show, which is set to begin in the spring.

Within days, about half of the bay should fill up, said Suzi Brown, a Disneyland Resort spokeswoman.

Workers will slowly do tests as they go along to make sure all of the equipment is working and then add more water, said Frank Dela Vara, director of environmental affairs and conservation at Disneyland Resort. Disney officials are unsure how long it will take to completely refill the bay.

I can't wait to see this show. Just seeing the whole "stage" for the show in person relly gives you the sense of how massive and technologically advanced the show will be. Just impressive.

Yay! I'm so happy! As cool as it is to see what's going on under the water, it isn't exactly photogenic. Hopefully by the time I'm there in December it will be completely full.

I'm very impressed seeing how massive the platform is. I'm sure this will be an amazing show.

I was looking at more close up pictures of the platform and all the water cannons and such last night, and man........ I am even more in awe as to the complex show this is. The things I saw in those pictures just blew my mind. I have been looking at pics by other people that frequently do updates and knew it was a big show and can see all the workings there on the platform, but I was now able to see all the pieces up close due to someone's great camera skills and lens. What an experience this will be to see this in person. Why can't it be Spring already? LOL.

I saw the platform last Saturday and it is absolutely amazing! We talked about wishing we could come up with technology like that. haha. I hope this show is as impressive as it is in my mind!

Darkbeer just did an update today, which made me kinda ponder LOL. He showed some pics showing a pipe over by Mickey's Fun Wheel filling the lagoon, and in other shots there was stuff still sitting next to the water and in some cases, in. Just find it odd they would be filling it when there is still a bunch of stuff like trash to clean up and remove before filling it. Plus some of the shots show a makeshift floating dock to go around the Chernabog mechanism so they can finish connecting all that stuff to it. Again I find it funny they filled it without finishing this first. The platform is one thing since all the workers can walk across it but that is not connected to the platform.

okay, sorry I never asked sooner, but why is the POTC skull in the first WOC concept art if it's an animation show while POTC is live action?
