Not a duplication, I meant possess a similar charm like Nightmare Before Christmas, not a repeat performance. Old Tim is good at giving his audiences something new but keeping with his trademark charm.

As much as I oppose a remake of Alice, if I got to choose the director for it... it would be Michel Gondry. NOT Tim Burton.

Lol no kiddin EX. Hopefully there won't be a redo of the ride after the movie.
Personally I really like Tim Burton's work. I think he will do a great job.
LOL it will either be really dark, or the colors will be amazing like Willy Wonka. I'm guessing bright and colorful!

I'm really looking forward to this! I love Tim Burton's work, and I love Alice in Wonderland, so it seems like a perfect match to me. I just hope that having a new Disney Alice movie won't change things at the park. They can't do that! ... can they?

Anyway. Who thinks that Alan Rickman would make a great Caterpillar?

I can see this movie being great. Tim Burton will know how to make something like this the right way. He's good at doing "dark", and Alice in Wonderland was dark in the first place.

Alice was never really dark to begin with. Carol's work is not dark. It is a silly acid trip, maybe even satirical. But it isn't really "dark." Now, The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling was dark. But not really Alice.

Well for some reason I can see Tim making it like this version:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_McGee%27s_Alice
But knowing it's going to be for Disney, I don't think it will be as demented as this.
I really loved this game. Very twisted and quite fun. Which coincidentally they are also making this into a movie set to come out in 2009.

Well this second movie (based on the video game American McGee's Alice) takes place years after "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" and "Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There", the game/movie features an older, more cynical and macabre incarnation of Alice.

This is a totally different style. The setting presents a considerably more macabre rendition of Wonderland than that of Lewis Carroll's original portrayal, now under the despotic rule of the Queen of Hearts. Wonderland, being a creation of Alice's mind, has been corrupted by her insanity.
Jean Marsh plays the Queen of Hearts. She played Queen Bavmorda in Willow, and I think she will be perfect for the Queen of Hearts.

So is this going to be like light-dark, like Charlie & The Chocolate Factory, or is it going to be just dark like Corpse Bride??
