Default Tim Burton's 'Alice In Wonderland'

Tim Burton's 'Alice In Wonderland'

Casting Rumors for Tim Burton's 'Alice in Wonderland'

Cinematical
In Hollywood nothing is ever official until you see the press release (and you should probably take the following news with a big grain of salt). Over at the Alice in Wonderland fan site, talk has surfaced that Tim Burton has finally cast Alice in his live-action version of Alice in Wonderland.

According to the commenter, Ian B: "My brother is working on the movie and he said Alice has been cast. He is a music supervisor for the movie and said there will be a press release about it on July 9th. The role was originally supposed to be Evan Rachel Woods but she backed out. Alice won't be played by a child but a 23 year old. From what I was told it's her first Burton movie, and her first big role in a film that will be released world wide." So who's the lucky gal? Say hello to Ryan Nikole Parker. Parker is not very well known, and other than a few TV credits is a relative newcomer to the business.

Burton struck the deal for Alice with Disney back in November, and according to comments on the IMDB message boards, he's already finished casting. Luckily for us, July 9th isn't that far away, so we won't be waiting long for the official word.

It might be sort of like his previous live-action movie Charlie and the Chocolate Facotry.

Oh, please, no... that was bad enough to see desecrated, not Alice too... well, it might have been Depp that really threw the movie for me, because he was just TOO creepy. I realize that Wonka was supposed to be insane to a point, but Depp didn't know where to stop.

Burton is creepy and crazy in his own way and that is all fine and good.
Alice in Wonderland is trippy and drugged-out and that is all fine and good.

But mixed together I see either complete brilliance or complete failure. His strange view of the world could make Burton the best man for the job. Conversely, that strangeness could cause this movie to be far more wacked out than we could possibly imagine...

Burton is at his best when he does original work, not remakes.

Actually, Burton's version is far closer to the book than the previous version. Willy Wonka was redesigned to fit the times and make it more pleasant. I felt that Burton and Depp did a completely wonderful and creepy version of it which the story was really about.

Now I too have heard that this was going to be like Beowulf with live action made into 3D animation.I really can't wait to see this and hope he sticks close to the book. H got this deal with Disney as well as a full feature length version of Frakenweenie.

Evan Rachel Wood would have made a very good Alice, come to think of it. unfortunate that she backed out (they always back out). The actress doesn't seem to fit from the picture I saw. I guess I will have to wait. I actually heard about this movie being thrown around once or twice. I trust the film to be good. seriously...it's Tim Burton. although the early batman films aren't exactly good slices of cake I may add. but still...it's Time Burton. Big Fish,Edward Scissor hands . It'll end up being creepy...fine by me. all in all, he is a good director

Seconded. I'm a little skeptical of this idea, but I'll stay tuned!

Tim Burton is a genius as far as I'm concerned. Too many times he's associated with dark, twisted, and macabre themes. This is true to a certain degree. Tim Burton presents his twisted stories with a great deal of heart and love, and sensational imagination and wit. I mean, take a look at Big Fish! Who could say with a straight face that its of a twisted and macabre nature?

I look forward to this film! I think Tim Burton is one of few (if not the only one) to showcase the wacky and weird world of Wonderland. I know he'll add his trademark darkness and twisted reality, but I think this will enhance the picture! I greatly look forward to his interpretation!

And c'mon, it's a Disney film, so I expect a charm similar to the Nightmare Before Christmas. It's not like Burton is going to go all "Sweeney" on us! However, that might add a little something extra... Ha never mind that!

Well, we're just going to have to wait and see! Thanks for the info though!

Wait..... Does this mean that if the movie does become a blockbuster than the ride will change to reflect this movie as well as the face characters? LOL

^ Of course. Disney classics are no longer classic. They are now merely marketing vehicles for more money in Disney's pocket.

Ugh, honestly, I hope it's nothing like The Nightmare Before Christmas.
