Default StormStruck at Epcot's Innoventions (opens)

Epcot attraction features Hurricane Charley

Epcot attraction will excite and educate visitors about Hurricane Charley
Epcot exhibit aims to thrill while teaching safety lessons

Orlando Sentinel
Starting this summer, Disney will treat Florida visitors to the sights, sounds and fury of 2004's Hurricane Charley. Scheduled to debut at Epcot's Innoventions pavilion in late August, StormStruck: The Tale of Two Homes is designed to be fun — yes, fun — and educational.

According to a Disney description, exhibit visitors will don 3-D glasses and watch as their "safe" house is lashed by a hurricane and begins to break up around them. As the eye of the storm hovers overhead, they'll race against the clock to decide how to rebuild the home more safely.

Just as long as it doesn't end up being some sort of backhanded statement about global warming...

Does this mean DCA could be seeing a California Wildfire attraction of the same kind? LOL

Cool! Take it to Texas and make it about tornadoes. It's also an educations reason to make a trip to WDW!

StormStruck opens at Epcot

Attraction sheds light on hurricanes

Orlando Sentinel
StormStruck, a new mini-attraction based on hurricanes, blew into Epcot. The attraction, set inside Epcot's Innoventions East pavilion, lets visitors experience a bit of what hurricanes can do.

StormStruck: A Tale of Two Homes is presented by the nonprofit Federal Alliance for Safe Homes (FLASH), a coalition formed by insurance companies and others involved in hurricane preparedness and response. The grand opening is set for noon Tuesday

I'm a good attraction for Innoventions. I think It would have been better if I didn't wait over 40 minutes for it though..

I had an idea like that once. It was supposed to be a next-generation coaster called Disaster Transit Authority for DCA. The trains were supposed to look like 1920's era red subway/overhead rail cars with each car fitting 16 people, going into outdoor scenes of San Fransisco in a massive earthquake and then speeding into underground tunnels and detours on the damaged rails...

Then Universal re-named Earthquake into Disaster! a few months later. Crap.

Anyways, this should look interesting...as long as they don't shove in Katrina or global warming references.
