I'm going to make the pedant's complaint that I don't know what to make of a film set in Arabia that lacks any Arab people.

But besides that, I'll probably go see it ^_^

My only only complaint is that the story line seems nothing like the Sands Of Time game.

Eh, only time will tell.

Default First trailer for Prince of Persia: Sands of Time

IGN has premiered the trailer for this movie. I never made it through all of the game, so I don't know how faithful this is going to be, but it looks interesting.

The trailer can be found here: IGN Video: Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Movie Trailer - Trailer

Prince of Persia Game creator and producer interview

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Producer Jerry Bruckheimer and Game Creator Jordan Mechner Interview

Collider
Last week I went to producer Jerry Bruckheimer’s office in Santa Monica to get an early look at the “Prince of Persia” trailer along with a number of other online journalists. As I said last week, I think “Prince of Persia” is finally going to break the movies based on a video game curse. Up to now, every video game based movie has been treated by Hollywood as a joke. They never have a budget. The scripts have been terrible. Also, after you see the movie, you lose respect for the game it’s based on. But after watching the trailer and speaking with Producer Jerry Bruckheimer and “Prince of Persia” creator Jordan Mechner, I think they’ve done everything they could to try and make this movie work.

Anyway, after we all watched the trailer, Bruckheimer and Mechner answered questions for about twenty minutes. While they discussed all the usual behind the scenes stuff, there was a lot of new info revealed. You can read the full transcript.

I shall reserve judgment on the video game to movie curse after I have seen reviews and seen the movie myself. So far Bruckheimer has done pretty well with his movies. but again, I'll wait.

It looks like its going to be a fun film. Prince of Persia is the only game i ever played from start to finish in one sitting, so I'm hoping for the best. I too will wait to pass judgement until I actually see the movie. I do wish that they chose an actor who had that ethnic background though. I'm sure there are some wonderfull actors who could have used this big break instead of going with a familiar name.
