Agreed... When you're in America, burgers and fries are just.... Way too common.. You can find a Burger joint in pretty much every shopping corner.
So when people go to Disneyland to escape the "real world", McDonald's (Or any other commercialized burger place for that matter) is what I had last wanted to see.

One thing I hope doesn't happen is a repeat of the bizarre shoehornings of Panda Express that we've seen in Magic Mountain and Knott's into Disneyland somehow. At Magic Mountain the Panda Express is in the 'Baja Ridge' area, and at Knott's, it's in the western 'Ghost Town' area. Can you imagine a Panda Express in the middle of Frontierland? Granted there weren't McDonald's in the old west either, but it would be much another thing to have Panda Express' panda logo amongest stockade buildings and rustic hills of Frontierland. Please let something like that never happen!

Why have either? Why can't Disney just bring back BBQ to Frontierland? We already have the Mexican food restaurant there, and there used to be BBQ... I don't see why they can't bring BBQ in one form or another to the park.
McDonald's is just as unnecessary as having Panda Express put there.
Just because the french fries are served from a chuck wagon doesn't mean the food fits Frontierland. In that case, they can easily switch to selling chow mang noodles in the wagon, and no one would care to take notice how misplaced it is.

I was thinking Pick-Up Stix as its a little more formal... and it can go where the Country Bear is... or Tomorrowland Terrace... or maybe a new place in Toon Town

But Tomorrowland, Critter Country & Toontown have nothing at all to do with anything Asian. However, there is a P.F. Chang's now open on Katella at the end of GardenWalk. Perfect for a Disney guest with a chinese food craving.

The best places for something like Panda Express (If at all), would be at places like Animal Kingdom and Epcot.

And next you will tell me that burgers are the perfect thing to eat in Critter Country... Shouldn't they have like a vegetarian place their instead?

Don't know of many kids that choose burgers over chicken nuggets LOL so I guess Toon Town should have more kids food.

and I highly doubt tomorrow we will have those disgusting burgers still around especially with the way our diet habits are going.

So I guess they should do away with burgers from the entire park... except Frontierland but then again I don't ever remember seeing a cowboy eat a burger back in that day... guess that idea is shot too.

I think the problem with Critter Country is that we don't have much of a perception what what "Critter food" would be like... I think finding food fitting for Critter Country is difficult enough.
The reason for burgers was probably because we often refer them as comfort food, and the way we see bears are as cozy laid-back creatures. At least that's how Pooh, Brer Bear, and the Country Bears appear.

At least the restaurant wasn't cheap enough to have McDonald's slapped in to take control... Hungry Bear is an actual sit-down restaurant.

Hot dogs could work, but I don't think a sit-down restaurant is quite suitable for them. LOL
A vendor would more work for those.
Steak could work... But we already have the Blue Bayou very close by. Not to mention how expensive steak would be in such a casual restaurant as the Hungry Bear. That would be kinda weird.
Critter Country is just kinda touchy for food, and I think the ones you brought up could work, but not for the Hungry Bear, unless they change the place completely.

Other lands have it simpler, you already know what kind of food to expect in NOS, Adventureland, Frontierland, and such. I think Tomorrowland has the most freedom though with food, because all you really need is the atmosphere to make it work. Kinda like the Cupcake-In-A-Cup idea - all the food needs is some different atmosphere.

Critter Country is just a bit touchy like I said, we really have no preference of what "Critter food" would be like.
I think hamburgers work well enough. At least it's REAL food being served, and not McDonald's or other fast food.

Understandable. But I've got one thing here: hamburgers are not that BAD for you when you make them correctly (meaning making them yourself, usually)!! I buy two pounds of ground round, or even ground sirloin, go home, season with Worcestershire sauce, season-all, salt, pepper, shape, freeze them on a sheet pan, move 'em to a zip-top bag, and just thaw what I need when I need it. No fillers, no fuss, no problems. If there's no filler and they aren't just left to cook in their own grease on a griddle or pan, then a burger can be decent, but the fast food joints don't care how unhealthy theirs are, and most lower the quality levels on their beef so they can say 'No Filler'.

Alright, off the soap box. Food for Critter County? Well, they usually like nuts, a little bit of vegetation, bears are fans of seafood, foxes are fans of small game/chicken/beef. Take after that one restaurant in the Wilderness Lodge, that would fit perfectly there or in Grizzly Peak.

I guess Disney didn't want us catching live salmon with our bear hands (no pun intended) and eating them raw. Nor did they want us hunting down rabbits and eating the alive either.

Burgers work because Americans love burgers. Cook them and they will sell. Raw rabbit and salmon mingled with barries does not.

... personally hamburger is not in my top 10 fav foods. I think we eat a lot of them cause that's all they sell.

Ever notice that they have a lot places now that steer your mind away from burgers? (Chicken, burritos, fish, Chinese)
