Thumbs down Good...

I have to admit that seeing the McDonald's logo in Disneyland always kind of bummed me out.

The one that really got me was the fry shack over by the Haunted Mansion. The theming is so awesome over there, and then BAM... a big, yellow "M".

Mickey D's (sorry, that's just what a lot of us call it) is leaving the park!! Now it just needs to leave AK, and I'm golden. Besides, there are better mediums for deep-frying fries for mass consumption. And those oil can be recycled and used as bio-diesel.

Not a big fan of Mac anyway. Maybe they could serve something chuck wagon appropriate like beans and cornbread, or bacon sandwiches. (Built in Lard) Works at Dollywood.

Ya, it really came from no where! I didn't even think McDonald's was sold there, I thought the one by the HM was just a cheap advertising gig.

I'm glad to see it go. I've always associated Disneyland with high quality and McDonald's with cheap, low quality.

McDonald's is leaving because their contract with Disney also happens to be up and is not being renewed. Ergo, the golden arches will be departing from all locations on Disneyland Resort property. But if you really need that McDonald's fix, there's a McDonald's on Harbor across the street from where the monorail makes a hard left into Tomorrowland.

They told us this was happening way over a year ago. Does no one remember the big announcement Disney made about "getting away" from McD's? And that was about the same time Disney stop putting its toys in McD's Happy Meals. I have seen them back in the Happy Meals after that but noticed they weren't as prominent.

No big secret for me and definitely not a surprise.

Oh how I will miss the fries! They seemed to hit the spot, salty and warm.
I will also miss the screams from Thunder Mountain on how over priced they are...

Cool Different fries.

It will have to be different fries without the trans-fat. That's the reason McD's is getting the boot.

(Yeah, I know they're denying it. It's just a coincidence. Whatever.)

Yup.. I love how they have to mask it and make everything sound so "PC". Just come out and say it.

*Disney in news conference* Yes, we wanted a change and a healthier mixture of foods in the park. So naturally we decided to let McDonald's go so we could develop a better vendor.

Oh how hard was that? I sometimes hate how Disney will skirt around the topics just to avoid stepping on toes. Who cares? You want them gone. Then get rid of them and do it with pride.

Cool Things change

yeah, but Disney knows better. They don't want potential new sponsors to say "They totally roasted McDonald's in the media. No way will we ever do buisiness with them!" Never bad-mouth an old girlfriend if you ever want to get a date again: Word gets around.

Besides, it wasn't all bad. Disney had good history with McDonald's, and if she ever cleans up her act, he might take her back again. Maybe after she's out of rehab.

Very true, but again it is Disneyland's property and they can let go and change what they want and when they want really. There are other way's of saying they want a change without stepping on toes and skirting around the issue. Personally I would be more offended by someone or a corporation not coming out and saying their mind.
