Disney cruise ship to get Fantasia-themed splash pool, LCD TVs

The Disney Magic cruise ship will get a splash pool themed around the movie Fantasia, new 22-inch, LCD television sets in cabins and a series of other upgrades during a nearly three-week stay in dry dock later this month.

Well, it does say "a series of other upgrades". Also, if you follow the link, the story says that a new coating is being applied to the ship's hull.

After just three weeks of drydock, Disney Cruise Line's 2,700-passenger Disney Magic cruise ship is set to go back into service soon with enhanced passenger amenities. The improvements include 22-inch flat screen TVs in every cabin; a complete makeover for the adults-only "Quiet Cove" serene pool retreat and the adjacent Cove Cafe; and a new toddlers'-oriented "Mickey's Splash Zone" with a Fantasia theme.

Also, The Oceaneer Club, a Neverland-themed play space for 3-7 year olds, and the Oceaneer Lab, a whacky and interactive laboratory exclusively for 8-12 year olds, were enhanced with new registration areas that make the check-in process more efficient and hassle-free. This sets the stage for incorporating Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology in the youth activity areas later this year, which will further enhance and streamline the check-in process.

The Magic got off to a quick start, beginning a transitional three-night cruise Wednesday out of Port Canavaral, to the Bahamas. That positions it to resume its regular seven-night cruise schedule on Saturday, also out of Port Canaveral. The Magic interchanges western and eastern Caribbean cruises from that port.
