Maybe Disney will connect it to Disney World (well no duh) and transform it into Florida DisneySea!

Disney's Animal Kingdom proves that Disney would be an excellent caretaker of SeaWorld.
Correct! This is also a great reason my family hasn't been to Sea World for quite some time (something to be remedied this weekend, possibly). The AK point is a great one as well.

A slight sprinkle here and there maybe, but... that's too much...

Thumbs down from an old school CM & Sea World performer

I think it would be cool. Sea World should stay its own entity of course, but if the park was developed with ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION in mind, it could be fantastic. When I was there 100 years ago, I thought the connection made with the animals and the education department were the best things going. Infuse that with Disney's handling of Sea World's already strong cast of characters (Penny Penquin, Shamu, Sir Winston Walrus) and you have a great entertainment, merch and marketing opportunity.

And yes San Diego and Orlando are always beautifully kept.

Remember before A-B? Sea World was owned by the text book company Harcourt - Brace - Jovanovich. I think education is key and cornerstone to Sea World's new era.

I was thinking more of calling it if they both combined Disney County. A new county in Florida.

I'm not really sure if I want to be with Disney for this or against Disney. If Disney got it, it could be renamed to DisneySea World.

I don't mind if Disney owned Seaworld. But one of the reasons Seaworld is so popular is because its different from any other park. If they turn it all Disney, it won't be different anymore and the reasons why people loved it will no longer matter. I'm all for Disney owning it because they know how theme parks work. But I fervently hope they leave it as it is. They can add more rides and whatever, but they need to leave the animals exactly the way they are. I love Seaworld the way it is, and I would be so dissapointed if Seaworld turned into "DisneySea" or whatever they could call it.

I'm going to school so I can work at Seaworld as a Dolphin Trainer and I would like it all to stay the way it is.

(Although, Seaworld could use some new show ideas. The dolphin show hasn't changed for like 10 years. Seriously)

FYI... you can just about DOUBLE those numbers to translate them into American dollars.

I would be over-the-top overjoyed if Dubai World won the bid. I'd imagine it would be like the investors of Tokyo Disney Seas buying an American theme park. Dubai World has VERY deep pockets... and has already hired MANY Disney imagineers that were let go through Disney's short-sightedness. One could imagine that if they were motivated, there is no way that Disney could outbid them, and wouldn't be nearly as concerned with turning a profit in the first several years as other companies (but that is my speculation, which is very poorly informed).

Dubai World already is building a Sea World in Dubai, so it may well be in their best interest to own a stake in the Florida operations... or all the Busch park operations.

I wonder what's going to happen to California's Sea World and the other Busch parks?

The future of Dubai is questionable. They are banking on the continued profits from oil. Once that dries up, (either physically or economically) it will go backrupt very quickly. My guess is 15 years from now it will be a very different place ...

That is sad. One can only assume that the free beer tasting and all of the beautiful clydesdales will go away at Sea World then Huh?

I talked to a friend who lives in Texas last night, and she mentioned that Disney had bought the SeaWorld there. Any confirmation?

Hmm...it will be interesting to see how this turns out. Part of me really wants Disney to get it...but another part doesn't...I'm torn

As much as I love Disney and enjoy Sea World, this doesn't make me happy much. I'd rather keep the parks separate.

So, is Disney actually going to bid? What about the SeaWorld in San Antonio?

Question InBev wants Budweiser, but maybe not SeaWorld

InBev approved the purchase of Anheuser-Busch, but it's still not clear whether they will keep the Busch Entertainment theme parks or sell them. Here's an update at the Orlando Sentinel:

All I hope is that nothing happens to SeaWorld. That would really dash my plans for the future...
