Default DCA Vineyard Room closing

DCA Vineyard Room closing

Disneyland to close another food joint

Orange County Register
A week after disclosing plans to shutter three McDonald’s in its two Anaheim theme parks, Disneyland has now said it will close a fine dining eatery at California Adventure. The upscale The Vineyard Room at the Golden Vine Winery — which was once sponsored by Robert Mondavi — will close Aug. 31, Disneyland spokeswoman Betsy Sanchez told The Register in an email statement.

Sanchez would not disclose what would replace the high-end restaurant, where a meal can run tourists about $30 per person. “In the short term, the area will be used as additional seating for the popular Wine Country Trattoria. Long-term plans are still being considered,” she said.

stinks! I had an anniversary reservation there on Sept 12th I've never been but it looked really nice and I read good reviews on the food. Sigh...oh well. yet another Disney thing I didn't get to experience before it went away.

So does that mean those vineyards by the restraunt are going to be taken away or something? I loved just seeing how they showed part of northern california's agriculture. I really hope they keep all that stuff and don't completely take away the things that make california, California!

Hmmmm. Never been there, at least I won't know what I'll be missing. I would assume with all of the soon coming changes to DCA, a lot of stuff will be going away (or changing anyway.)

I read somewhere that it would be converted to showcase the new attractions coming soon to DCA. I also read somewhere else that it would be relocating.

I wonder if the author of the article had ever eaten at this fine restaurant. From the sound of it, probably not.

I had heard this might happen. I'm truly sad.

The Vineyard Room was one of the reasons I would take a party over to DCA. It always had an exciting menu, great service, and made for a wonderful (if sometimes breezy) evening meal. Like The Blue Bayou at DL, it was a special event in itself. I even had just begun favoring VR over BB! The Trattoria isn't enough of a draw to drag me away from DL for a meal but we might still stop by if we're in the area. Maybe they'll find a place for another restaurant like VR with the $1B+ cash infusion for DCA retheming/expansion.

Help me out, here. I once ate at the little restaurant under the big restaurant. Was the little one the trattoria?

There are a number of places in DCA that I speculate would "leave" in an upgrade including the adventure walk area in the Redwood section and the winery section. I even think they have taken up a lot of space with the "ocean" in the Paradise Pier area. I would be sorry to see them all go, but not surprised. Gotta get another thrill ride in there somewhere if the place is going to pay for itself.
