'Three Men and a Bride'

Guttenberg, Danson and Selleck =
'Three Men and a Bride'

Cinematical
We are now in the age of the 20-year-old sequel. Now we've reached the pinnacle of past grabs, as WENN is reporting that Steve Guttenberg, Tom Selleck, and Ted Danson are reuniting for Three Men and a Bride.

"Disney's developing Three Men and a Bride. That's going to be a smash. A smash hit. They're bringing everybody back for that," says Guttenberg. "Nobody knows about it. I'm the first to talk about it."

man, talk about year of the resurrections haha. Who knows though... this one could end up being really cute! Maybe they can bring Martin Short in to plan her wedding too haha. Just like in Father of the Bride.

*shakes his head* Horrible. Just horrible.
So after 20 years, are they still living with each other in that place?
I find it hilarious how Guttenberg is the one talking about it and being so proud to get the small amount of limelight from that. "I'm the only one talking about it". "Look at me" "Remember me?"

{noise made at the back of the throat suggesting utter disbelief}

The proposed Roger Rabbit sequel has a better chance.

Out of all of them only Tom Selleck has been able to do ongoing (quality) work. Cute movies, when our society was naive and all that, but I can't see this kind of formula movie being successful nowadays. (3 men successful but totally different men living together? for serious?) Shouldn't CPS have been involved with the whole child abandonment thing? Haven't we established that mom's a flake and dad only steps up when he absolutely has to?

They don't neccessarily have to be living together still... perhaps they all have their own avenues, but her wedding is sort of what reunites them all....

Actually Ted Danson is the most successfull of the three. He's been on a number of hits shows and currently has a show thats doing rather well. It's funny because I just had a conversation with friend that this movie was a movie I could see being redone. I think that this sequel will be a cute family movie. They are not doing this for the money, I think its more like a group of professionals wanting to get back together and make a fun picture for old times.

That may very well be the case. But I think that a lot of movie fans are starting to get a bad case of remake/sequel fatigue and the negative reactions to the announcements of these projects reflect that.

Does the potential exist for this to be a good movie? I would say yes. But my initial reaction is one of disappointment due to the remake/sequel burn-out and I am evidently not alone in that.

The second movie was mostly about a wedding anyway and it was better than the first one. Doesn't make any sense to go any further.

I don't know if I'm a prude, but I think Disney should have gotten past that Pretty Woman/Three Men and a Baby phase and realized they were promoting some pretty scuzzy ideas. I remember my best friend saying to be at the end of these movies, "That was cute, huh?" And I was thinking, "Yeah, if you like immorality." I want something a little deeper than "cute", I want something that actually makes sense. If I want cute, I'd see something animated. And many of those make more sense. Oh, well, this movie will bomb anyway, so why do I care?!

Listening to a morning radio show today, they talked about some news things and one was the reported 3 Men & A Baby sequel. Apparently Danson's and Selleck's reps both said no and really have heard of this. So this could be another wacky Guttenberg moment. He was seen running indecently through Central Park not long ago.
